It was great to start the day with the New Albany Moms group who braved the cold for a statehouse scavenger hunt today. This group is a wonderful reminder about one of the primary reasons I serve-making sure every one of these kiddos & all Ohio children have an opportunity to thrive in this state.

We received committee assignments Friday & I’m looking forward to a very busy & productive 136th GA. My assignments: Finance, Education (K-12), Children & Human Services, Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review (JCARR), & Ranking on Workforce & Higher Education. Honored to serve.

Today, @OHHouseDems sent a letter to Governor Mike DeWine requesting he consider a full veto of HB 8 and two line-item vetoes of controversial provisions included in HB 315.

Also, it will never be wrong to stand up for people when they’re being bullied. The narrative that pushing back against extremism and hatred as evidence for “identity politics” is BS.

Absolutely need to take a critical look at data from this election cycle, but wish people would refrain from sweeping conclusions about strategy & messaging. The most infuriating conclusion I’ve heard on repeat is that knocking doors is outdated. It’ll never be outdated to have F2F conversation.
