AI bias in systems for HR create legal risks and reputational damage to companies using these systems. However, companies that address AI bias proactively could gain a competitive advantage in attracting talent, partners, or funding.
I guess it depends on what one values in lab management. What does it mean to be good at running a lab? Or more importantly, what aspects of lab running should we strive to be better at?
Eric Schmidt has been making the rounds lately—I heard him on a podcast—plugging his book, co-written with Henry Kissinger(!), and warning everyone that open source AI is a threat to national security.
Good post. IL should teach the distinction between interacting with a standalone LLM and a these so-called RAG systems. Users should understand that RAG systems have a pre-baked prompt already engineered for them, designed to expect a regular query. Unlike standalone LLMs, user control is limited.
