McCallum’s 9.975 on floor after sliding her front foot back on the opening pass. McCallum’s 9.8 on vault with that huge lunge forward, and Smith’s 9.8 on vault with the big step back. Both vaults I expected to be in the 9.7’s. Utah definitely had some gifts!

This administration is plainly incompetent:

Crashing the stock market
Alienating our allies
Leaking sensitive national security intel
Mistakenly deporting people
Firing thousands, then having to hire countless back

What a sloppy, embarrassing pattern.

Bloomberg: Trump administration pressuring Romania to let Calin Georgescu run for president

The Trump administration is currently pressuring Romanian authorities to ensure that pro-Russian politician Calin Georgescu is allowed to continue his electoral campaign unhindered and run in the presidential elections in May, according to a report from Bloomberg. The US newspaper notes that American officials have focused almost exclusively on the presidential election issue in a series of private meetings with their Romanian counterparts, warning them not to obstruct Georgescu's campaign. The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) issued a press release in response to the revelations made by Bloomberg, stating that there have been "public messages of some representatives of the US Administration at the Munich Security COOKIE SETTINGS l in social media posts.

Update: Elon Musk has now posted several times in support of Georgescu; Trump has also threatened Romania in the last few days trying to pressure them to allow the Russian operative to run for presidency. JD Vance specifically went to Europe to add pressure on this issue.

I follow French politics a lot, as many of you know. Any effort for mass layoffs of public sector employees there would create such huge strikes and marches, the level of disruption and paralysis would be biblical.

“The High Chaparral” is a 9x12” oil on birch that I was commissioned to do by someone special. I don’t often do commissions, but when I saw the photo taken in Pittsfield, VT (one of the loveliest spots in Vermont and not far from where I grew up) I felt inspired to create a piece for them

The SAVE Act demands people provide documents that millions of eligible voters don’t have easy access to, such as passports and birth certificates, to register to vote.

This bill is unnecessary — federal and state laws already prevent ineligible people from voting. Congress must reject this bill.

The SAVE Act: Overview and Facts The SAVE Act would require all Americans to prove their citizenship with documentation unavailable to millions and upend the way every American citizen registers to vote.

SAVE Act:

“…Driver’s licenses—including REAL IDs—as well as military or tribal IDs do not satisfy the bill’s requirements.”

The SAVE Act is systemic misogyny. It would disenfranchise tens of millions of women--those who changed their name after marriage but don't have either a birth certificate or a passport with their new legal name.
