Luther Vandross left us 21 years ago, so it's good to see him finally being recognised in this way. 4/4

For me, however, I always like to remember how he helped bring David Bowie's 'Young Americans' album to life with Bowie taking Luther's original compositions, such as today's track, & either reworking them or being inspired by them, in addition to 3/4

Luther Vandross created songs that helped soundtrack the 80's to early 2000's, with hits like 'Never Too Much', 'Give Me The Reason', 'The Best Things In Life Are Free' (with Janet Jackson) &, the beautiful, 'Dance With My Father'. 2/4

Sade have released music in ever decade since they formed & have reportedly been working on new music in recent years. Maybe this induction will see it surface.

In the meantime, today's track is one of their classic tracks from '85. 4/4

drummers, Paul Cooke who left the band 2 years after their formation & then his replacement, Dave Early, who left in '85 & subsequently passed away in '96. 3/4

While most assume that, when you refer to Sade it is just the singer Sade Adu, Sade is actually the name of the band that she fronts

I'm glad that, in their induction, both parts of this story are being recognised as to acknowledge only one band would not be to get the whole picture. 3/3

After the loss of their singer, Ian Curtis, the rest of the band members of Joy Division could have just given up on their dreams.

Instead they renamed themselves New Order & became a massively successful group, releasing many iconic hit songs. 2/3
