If it has a solo mode and you got it up on screentop or something, I'd be happy to play it a few times if you're looking for any feedback or want any help identifying something that seems out of place

When you're 50 playtests deep on your game and starting to do tests with friends, do you still get that nervous anticipation while playing about if you can pull out the win or on some important die roll or is it more like setting up dominoes and just watching it play out? I'm in the ladder atm

Over the years gaming and programming I've been conditioned to ignore examples because they never actually show me an edge case I might need clarification on or be confused about. I'd love good examples but I typically don't even notice them until I'm trying to parse a confusing state
Got our first two external playtests of #Exomoon in today with some friends from my local game group! Went well. At a minimum , it was not an unmitigated disaster ๐ Thanks Michael and Fred! ๐ฒ โ๏ธ
Not ideal, but I suppose you could do something like 3-ring punch the appendix and provide additional 3-ring punched pages to add with future releases?
Marvel champions just provides a booklet with the bigger box releases that has all the new mechanics in it and they update an online rulebook.
I also prefer the NPC actions be clear and without any input from me. But it would be interesting to try and bake in some reaction in the NPC to what you do. So you don't have to think about how to run the NPC but you do need to think about how your actions will give it openings to take advantage of
I'm currently taking some inspiration from wingspan. Don't make the ai follow the rules. It doesn't need to collect the right resources to build or buy the thing. Just make it build or buy the thing about as often as a good player would. Just make it progress like a player to keep the pressure on.
Anyone got some advice, insights, or good rule of thumbs for designing a solo mode for board games?
I'm making one that acts like a player building buildings, completing missions to interact with the player, take up space, and race you in VP.
It's going well, but I'd love hear your experiences ๐ฒโ๏ธ
I wish more rulebooks did this. Just gotta make sure the text in the picture is still big enough to read at whatever size the rulebook is printed in
Physical prototype of #Exomoon is finally done! Dextrous and screentop make it deceivingly easy to make a "prototype" ๐. Some assembly required ๐ฒโ๏ธ
I can't wait to hear more about !Rune Rite!, [Sinister Plots], and $Threed...
Facts
It is shocking how easy it is to make something for hours and hours just to play it and realize it's not, in fact, a game. Grats on playtest and the game!
Finished our March goal of 20 initial internal playtests for #ExomoonColony!
Looking to print a physical prototype to get a feel for the size and complexity of the game on the table.
Just learned screentop.gg this month and love it. Now on to dextrous. Loving it so far too. Lots of great ๐ฒโ๏ธ tools
๐ฒโ๏ธ Got in our first 4-player playtest of #ExomoonColony! Went a lot smoother than expected. Only need to tweak a few things to smooth it out.
We've played 2, 3, and 4 players and have 17 out of our goal of 20 internal tests done for March.
Hit me up if you want to playtest with us later this month
It's like closing a browser tab you don't need anymore after 6 months
Deleting files is the best feeling
๐ฒโ๏ธ made a ton of progress on our new game #ExomoonColony this year. Designed the core game, got a prototype made, and already got 14 playtests in!
In the game you help establish a new colony on a barren, but resource rich, Exomoon. It is a probability farmer, a la Catan but a little heavier.
Thanks! Can't take too much credit
I'm using this asset set while I figure out my style. I like it a ton. I made a few small adjustments. But pretty much just stock

This feels a little insane, but I am really liking this design pattern so far. Im not making final assets but I'm coding the systems in order. My save/load system and main menus are almost done for #StellarHarvest #Stardust, then off to in-game menus.

So excited!
After getting some more experience under my belt, I've started fresh on #Stardust. Still really need to lock in a name and get a slash screen together. But I'm starting at the beginning and building the game manager, menu, save/load, etc systems first.

This looks sweet
The Indie Den Game Jam will be having a livestream on September 6th on Twitch to announce the winners. Check out some of the entries we thought were interesting.

#WeDidItReddit. #HonkPursuit is submitted to the #TheIndieDen jam. First jam and time I've uploaded or exported a game. It's got plenty of rough edges. But you can play it now in frantic or chillcore mode.
