To quote their 2008 team promotional slogan:
All Out All Season.
(Being their first in ages sans Barry Bonds, the team missing the self-deprecating interpretation of the slogan has always tickled me.)

A.J. Pierzynski: a famously hard-to-like human
A nonzero number of women: likable humans
I thought likability was something to aim for on television. Oh well.
Steve Winwood's "Higher Love" has inane lyrics - the kind I'd assume were written by a junior high kid who thinks they're deep and no one gets them.
And yet I've never seen it in a list of bad lyrics. That's especially surprising for it being a #1 hit.
I guess I have a new soapbox now!
Not that Vanilla Lake and Frappe Snowland were that favourable. Or, on the other hand, anything with lava.
Did the panic-based gambit work?
A review website I hadn't heard of said I made one of the best albums of the year in its genre!
The album has sold 2 copies.
Went to a barbershop yesterday that *only* takes cash (didn't have signs saying this) and correspondingly has an ATM in the back. I have no idea what to make of it.
If somebody chooses not to respect professions whose output can be produces at home, then - voila! - nothing respectable is produced at home.
Similarly, if in sports I ignore the opposing team's efforts, my side scores all the points.

My album with poetry rapper extraordinaire Declaime, called 10 Umbrellas for Your Soul, is out today!
And this hip-hop focused site has already added it to their best-of list for the year:

I hope you enjoy the list! My research process for these would be characterized by most as "insane" and "too much."
And that album at the end...she did a Twitter giveaway contest that I won, and that's how we know each other!
Advising on a whirlwind of items that are in Seattle news, helping Everett with its decennial charter review, trying to manage the release of my album with Declaime, in my first week of knowing I've been lactose intolerant all decade, getting ready to move (in-town) in two weeks, and more!
Just a few weeks ago, I put them on my best-of-2023 list. Hadn't heard of them really before then.

When I was on the M15 cardname/flavor text team, I submitted flavor text for Aggressive Mining that was a callback to the flavor text for Squandered Resources.
I don't think I ever had a clear favorite in my day, but (maybe influenced by age of your fav) Squandered Resources leapt straight to mind.

Will the Bracket 1 version live long enough to consistently display the bit?
A.k.a. McNeil Deluxe?
New single and video! It's your classic breathing meditation poem into some vaporwave-adjacent IDM where half the song rotates around the other half.

That feels like a continuation of big marketing's off-the-shelf, supplied whimsy. "No, we're not high strung in Silicon Valley! We have software suggest hikes in the Appalachians!" (While posting on LinkedIn that seven days away from the business is for betas asking to go bankrupt.)
I've just confirmed that my new single is getting play at a club in Berlin.
This was a fun sentence to type.
I'm getting basically no sleep and it's at bizarre hours.
But I also just cleared 1,000 monthly Spotify listeners for the first time. (It's day 5 of single #1 for this album with someone much more famous than me.)
STREET CRED:
I made this hip-hop track with a Grammy-nominated rapper. Album drops January 30.
NERD CRED:
I made the lyric video in PowerPoint.

Real vibes of "Chang started his solo. Knowing him, that gives us only 9 minutes."
@gabyduboisjoli.bsky.social You might want to look at my just-finished best-of-2025 3-hour playlist that comes from checking out roughly 500 albums this year and is put in chronological order. Like, maybe at the end of the list or something. :-)

This looks like you're making your own music video for Saint Etienne's "He's On the Phone." And I for one would enjoy that.
A DJ with a food name has to refer to vinyls as "platters." It's the law of how-I-wish-it-worked.
I think writers as a group conflate articulability with relatability.
And writers struggling with executive function and finding success are probably the plurality.
Leave it to a drum machine-using follower like m'self to contribute 9.09% of the likes.
I find it harder to use their non-drum samples unless you like using Kontakt. But I've used them in a few things. It's the drums that really pop for me.
Supplement it with the Samples from Mars Black Friday deal, and you've got the makings of...some makings?
