“ that can’t . . . ”

jessica hurriedly picked up some of the files. skimming through.

“ they . . . they are. ”

her hands moved, going through all the documents.

“ this enough to get us a place maybe? start a little life here. ”

a nod was given as she moved to sit criss crossed on the floor of their motel room.

“ see if we got anything good in there. or some new clothes. ”

all those emotions lie clear upon his face.

“ can see all the animals. walk around. enjoy the weather. ”

jess didn’t question about the circus, not yet.

a laugh was placed against his lips before she returned the kiss. keeping close to him as she nodded.

“ i actually love the zoo. ”

“ kinda doing everything out of order. ”

the brunette teased before she nodded.

“ i’d like a date, we can keep it nice and simple. i don’t need fancy. ”

her eyes were soft. and they looked at him in a way she had never looked at anyone before.

with a sense of longing. lingering. every emotion thar could be felt.

“ it’s alright, we are in the same boat with that one, actually. ”

“ both . . . but with you, i’m very interested. ”

the brunette took a deep breath. those sweet green eyes looking up adoringly.

“ i’ve just never had the interest until now. ”

she snickered softly.

“ we can take this slow. extremely slow. ”

“ i don’t mind i just . . . don’t want to fight this feelings. ”

hands moved to rest on his hips as she nodded.

“ i’ve never fallen for anyone so, it is new. ”

“ if it means i get you, i can handle it. ”

the spider nodded, keeping close to him. hands still upon clint’s cheeks.

“ please . . . don’t push me away. ”

“ just . . . i trust you. so much. more than i should. I can’t deny my heart beats for you. every time i see you smile. every time you discover something.

i didn’t know how much i wanted or needed you. ”

she claimed his lips once more.

she was dragging them back into the warmth now, closing the door but, jessica never broke that kiss.

only after enough time had passed, forehead against his own.

“ i feel so . . . strongly about you. like we were always somehow connected. ”

her back hit the door. her squeak muffled by the kiss.

oh, how jessica melted before him, hands upon clint’s cheeks as lips moved slowly.

adoring him. his warmth. the feel.

“ you’re making me shiver even more than the cold . . . ”

her cheeks red at the comment.

“ can you just . . . kiss me already so we can go back inside and be warm ~ ? ”

the spider teased.

“ arrows . . . ”

she teased as that hand gently moved to his cheek. the cold breeze blowing her hair a bit as she looked up.

“ clint. ”

a brow rose as she moved in, gripping his chin gently and tilting his head up.

“ you don’t get to tell me what is good for me. you weren’t you before . . . now you are. and i like this you. ”

her face fell a bit.

“ clint . . . it doesn’t make me uncomfortable i just . . . I must have
misread the signs. i’m sorry. ”

her eyes darted down.

see, jess. it was silly. overthinking.

“ i want you to stay. ”

“ you just kinda . . . look at me a certain way. ”

she’d stop right in front of him.

“ i get that you have a lot you are figuring out. a whole life you are catching up on. ”

“ . . . it’s all so weird. ”

each glance, her heart raced. inching closer. just a bit as the spider looked up.

gosh, he was tall.

“ i . . . am i crazy? ”

the spider bit the inside of her cheek, thinking.

it’d be silly to express those feelings, wouldn’t it? surely, he didn’t feel the same but it bugged her.

jessica moved out the door of the apartment, feeling the cold crisp air against her face. but, words escaped her.

she’d simply stay turned, arms rising as she allowed the Tshirt to fall down upon her form once more.

eventually they’d need more clothes.

and yet, all her actions were slow. Jessica fought through those feelings. between wanting him to look away and wanting him even closer. a soft breathe —

“ no harm done. ”

she shrugged a bit.

“ we share a room, was bound to happen. ”

oh, how those red cheeks made her swoon.

now her cheeks flushed ever deeper. glancing up at him.

her cheeks flushed as she burst into laughter.

“ you’re fine. i . . . thought you were still asleep anyways. ”
