Not pointless at all. It’s good to have somewhere where you can vent your feelings and people will listen. It’s a difficult time but you will get through it!

Obviously you need to keep the money coming in. Presumably there’s no connection between staying in Austria and losing UK clients?

No rush James. Things will pan out one way or the other. Know what you mean about the state of the UK rental market. Even twenty years ago I never had a good experience renting. Ended up in a mobile home. At least no difficult landlord to deal with.

I know the feeling. You just have to put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward if only slowly.

I know it doesn’t seem like it at the moment but you will gain strength from this horrible time. This is an opportunity to do things you always wanted to do. For yourself. Nobody else.

Ten hours work in the garden over the last couple of days. The early spring ritual tidy up. Now it’s down to nature…..well mainly!

I went on small group ‘adventure’ trips. Tended to be like minded people. Really enjoyed them. Exodus or Diamir are two operators I could recommend.

Not kitted up!

Yes very good at the moment. It was in Indonesia. Went too fast towards the top of a hill and missed the curve. Slammed into the crash barrier and trashed my left shoulder, knee and many ribs!

Tell me about it! Certainly have to keep moving as age creeps up. I had a bad motorcycle accident in 2018 and that has led to lasting knee problems but hasn’t stopped me. I’m amused when I look at recommended exercise programmes for my age (70) and think I’m not that old or decrepit yet!

This led to me opting for a totally new career. No pressure just happenstance. The trick is to have a positive attitude and to understand that life can and probably will be better! There will always be regret but keep looking forward.
