Nagisa’s and Karma are drinking together, and Karma says something that upsets Nagisa, and instead of getting angry, he stands up and decides it’s time to leave. “I think I’ll head back now.” He says.

“Hey I didn’t mean” says Karma, while Nagisa grabs his bag. At the doorway, Nagisa turns back with blank eyes, “I’m not mad or anything, it really is getting late.” Karma stands up from the table and mutters under his breath, “as if I’d believe that empty look” then grabs Nagisa’s shoulder as he turns to leave. Stopping him in the hallway but not looking him in the eye.

Karma speaks, “I’m—“ but is cut off by Nagisa lifting his chin so they’re looking at each other. Nagisa turns his head upwards and cups Karma’s cheek, and Karma finishes his sentence . “—sorry.”

They share a kiss, and when the sun comes up the next morning, Nagisa gives Karma a sheepish apology, as he has given Karma a bunch of kissmarks.

Nagisa appears surprised from the blood, then places his hand over his nose and mutters “not again…” he goes to grab some toilet paper, while Karma asks “again? What do you—“ but he doesn’t finish the sentence upon seeing the toilet filled with bloody paper. Nagisa tilts his head back while plugging his nose and says “sorry, I’ll try not to use up all the paper,” which makes Karma grit his teeth in further frustration.

Karma pushes Nagisa’s head down and uses his other hand to properly plug Nagisa’s nose, covering Nagisa’s hand with his own. “Don’t tilt your head back if you have a nosebleed.” He says, and Nagisa responds, “Karma, my head hurts enough already. Don’t be so rough.” Karma lifts his hand off of Nagisa’s head for a moment, then softly places it back down and ruffles Nagisa’s hair, to Nagisa’s slight confusion

“He’s being so gentle” Nagisa thinks, before growing dizzy. He falls onto Karma’s chest, and apologizes again. “Sorry, I just feel so dizzy… and tired…” he says, before falling asleep in Karma’s arms, while Karma awkwardly tries to hold him.

In Okinawa, at 2:37AM, hours after the fight with Takaoka, a sleepy Karma gets up from his bed at the hotel and heads to the bathroom, where a silent and mangled Nagisa stares back at him through the mirror

Nagisa looks up from the sink at Karma and asks, in his usual kind demeanor: “oh, did I wake you?” To which Karma, shocked from the sight from before, sarcastically answers: “Well, I’m definitely awake now” Nagisa turns off the faucet and says “sorry, I didn’t mean—“ but Karma, who’s reaching for a cup, cuts him off and says “it’s fine, I just want some water.” While drinking his water, Karma thinks: “why am I so on edge? It would’ve been better if he’d been upset, or crying. That blank expression is just…”

Nagisa awkwardly stands next to Karma as he drinks his water and says nothing. “This silence is agitating too!” Karma continues to think, before angrily placing his cup down. “So, what? You can’t sleep?” He asks Nagisa, but some blood drips onto the counter of the sink. Nagisa looks back at him blankly, with blood running down his face from his nose.

In their first year of junior high, Nagisa and Karma are walking together and Karma exclaims and starts rubbing his eyes. Nagisa asks if he’s okay. Karma looks up, tears running down his face with glassy eyes, and says “it’s nothing, just some dust in my contact, is all.” Nagisa looks at him in shock for a moment.

Nagisa thinks to himself: “Karma’s sadism must be rubbing off on me… why else would seeing him in pain make me so happy?” And sighs. He then thinks “Yeah, that’s probably all it is…” in the next panel, he’s in the hallways in his second year of junior high. In the next panel he’s in 3-e outside holding and anti sensei knife. In the next panel he’s holding his diploma at graduation.

He’s in the hallway of his high school in his first year. He suddenly drops his notebook and pencil case on the ground in shock. His classmate walks up to stand next to him and asks, “Nagisa? Why’d you drop all your stuff like that?” And Nagisa suddenly, blushing and covering his mouth, exclaims: “SO CUTE!!!!!!!!” And the narrator bubble describes: “reaction time: 3 years”
