Morning, Skylings! The fall continues apace, the daughter is home with us, and life is hella busy. It's all good, though.

Hey, Skylings! Fall has struck, with highs this week ranging from 68F/20C to 74F/23C. Life has also struck. Our Leslie is moving back in, which is a really awesome thing. The circumstances are a bit sad, but family is what we all need right now. I'm going to love having my girl home.
What a day, Skylings. Good thing is that I got to wear a sweater since it was only 58F/14C! It's a long weekend here in the US, so I'll be back Tuesday. Have a good weekend!
Skylings, it's chilly and I am here for it. 70F/21C, which isn't really that chilly until you compare it with a month ago. Plus, per the weather app, there are thunderstorms on the way. I'm here for that, too. I have leftover white beans and ham and plans to bake some cookies later. It's a good day.
Happy Wednesday, Skylings. You know, the weather has definitely turned. For how long who knows, but I'm enjoying it while I can. I even had HOT coffee this morning. Today's high is supposed to be 64F/18C but we haven't made it there yet. The sun is shining, though, so temp is pretty irrelevant.
Morning, Skylings. It's another beautiful day in the 315 with a high of 71F/22C. There's a little breeze and big, puffy clouds in the sky...and I'm stuck inside attending a 4 hour Zoom meeting. **sigh** When can I go on vacation again? Or maybe I'll win the lottery...
I'm baaaa-aaack! Happy Monday, Skylings. It was a fantastic vaca. We did some home projects, visited Rochester, and hung out with the very tall son. I'm glad to be back at work, though. I missed my peeps. And the weather is perfect: 73F/23C and sunny.
It's Friday, Skylings, it's still hot, and I'm on vacation starting at 5pm eastern US today. The high today is going to be 86F/30C, which is better but still too high for my taste.
Next week promises better weather, thrifting, good food, and crafts. I need this. Have a good week, everyone!
Oh, and 2.5 more days until an entire WEEK of vacation. I haven't had a full week in forever.
Well, Skylings, we're not quite at reprieve level yet. Today is going to be 88F/31C, which is, yes, much lower than yesterday. But dang it, it's still HOT. I can't wait until my room isn't an oven and I can go back to sleeping in my own bed.
Even the Chihuahua prefers the AC this week. That's saying something.
Oh Skylings, the stupid has increased by two degrees today: 93F/34C. Even the cat refuses to go outside (she loves the deck on a sunny day). This weekend it will be more bearable and then next week...HEAVEN. Highs in the high 70sF/low 20sC. And I'm on vacation. **happy sigh**
Well, Skylings, it's the first of two days of absolutely stupid heat and humidity. Today's high is supposed to be 91F/33C. I'm staying in the AC as much as I can. Fortunately, this weather is going to resolve before I start my vacation on Saturday.
Happy Friday, Skylings. We still have smoky skies here in the 315, which is making me sound like a pack-a-day smoker. The high today will be 85F/29C again. They've predicted this 3 days in a row but it hasn't gotten quite that warm. I hope they are equally inaccurate about this weekend's temps.
Well, Skylings, two bits of good news. First, we have 2 more days of nice weather before it gets stupid again. Today and tomorrow will both be 85F/29C. After that, all Hades breaks loose.
The second bit is that the car only cost $89. At least we have one working vehicle for now.
The car fuckery continues, with the bill now over $3K...and I'm waiting on the info on the second car. We have GOT to have a working car, even if it's just one. Two makes things easier but we can work with just one. At least it's only going to be 83F/28C and smoky.
Well, Skylings, the weather and life are challenging me today. It's going to be hot (85F/29C) and both the cars are going to cost us money. The Subie needs new front struts and control arms and back bearings, and the Mazda needs front brakes.
Hopefully I can massage finances to handle this.
Another Monday, Skylings. It was a beautiful weekend and today is following suit - 84F/29C. It is a bit hazy with wildfire smoke, but it's nothing like last year...yet. Let's hope it doesn't get there. I had enough smoke in WA...
It's Friday, Skylings, and Mother Nature continues her redemption tour with a high of 75F/24C. This is damn near perfect around here and I get to spend the day at work and then grocery shopping. At least the shopping is our monthly trip to the Amish store. Have a great weekend, all!!
Oh Skylings, it didnt make it past 68F/20C. I was so so happy. I was even a bit chilly.
OK, this is the last day of icky heat/humidity in CNY. We'll probably reach 88F/31C with 67% humidity, which can be translated to blech. The Beloved even slept downstairs with me in the spare room. We had the AC set to arctic, which was fabulous. I slept so hard...with covers! It was a delight!

Rob is in his emo phase and wishes that I listened to a lot more of The Cure than I do.
Well, Skylings, I gave up last night. Much as it pains me, I slept downstairs away from the Beloved, because the AC in our room died. It was 91 in there. I escaped to the spare room and plan to spend today's 89F/32C day working in here with the AC. I'm a heat wuss.
Right there with ya. It's gross, and I don't say that lightly as a queer, sexuality-positive person.
Happy Monday, Skylings! It was a good weekend but entirely too short. We're in for some heat the next couple of days (90F/32C) but then it's supposed to be "almost perfect", whatever that means. Hopefully their idea of perfect is close to mine - maybe 78F/26C? Maybe a thunderstorm? That'd be nice.
Happy Friday, Skylings. We made it. It's much cooler today both here (83F/28C) and on my FB feed. I just want people to cite their sources. I don't even care if they are in APA or ALA format or any format at all. Just back up what you're saying with sources.
Wednesday, Skylings, and it's hot as hell (Christian version) today, 93F/34C. It's also pretty damn hot on my FB page, where my sister, who I love dearly, is being educated by my friends about undocumented crime rates and benefit stealing. And they are bringing the footnotes!
“But then, no one ever needs a cat these days. That’s not why we have cats. We have cats because they amuse us and because otherwise our clothes would lack the texture only cat hair can provide.”

Have any of y'all read Starter Villain by @scalzi.com? I just finished it (at 2am, but, well, you know how that goes...) and it was exactly what my heart needed.
And even if you didn't ask, 3 of my 4 pets are named after book characters, so I guess that falls under Mythology. The last one is Dough
I dream of importing an opossum to our neighborhood. I'm sure there are some out there but right now our resident under-porch roommate is a skunk. She's pretty and doesn't spray too much, but still...I'd rather I had an opossum.
