Posts by Helix | RPG Major - Actual Play + Improvised Musical Podcast

Query:

If you (or someone you watch/listen to) had a NON-TTRPG/Actual Play podcast, YouTube channel, etc.

AND

Played a tabletop roleplaying game on that feed/channel/etc

BEFORE 12/31/2018

could you let me know?

(I have some examples but trying to see if I missed anything)

Howdy - I'm assuming you mean background music/scoring. If that's right you can reach out directly to our guitarist @noahcsamuels.bsky.social or to our very occasional pianist - instagram @alex_engelberg

Both could potentially provide scoring for hire. If I misunderstood, please clarify

TTRPGs for Trans Rights—Idaho by Rue (ilananight) and 230 others TTRPGs for Trans Rights—Idaho: 511 items for $5.00

itch.io runs an annual Trans Rights fundraiser. This year they're offering a pay what you want (starting at $5) bundle with around 50 games, including a coffee themed hack of Thirsty Sword Lesbians called Thirsty Queer Baristas

Love how much emotion you get in the eye here - so much from so little - and the "splat" on the circle behind the witch. Linocuts are dooooope.

Heck yeah, glad to hear I can look forward to more in that vein. I hadn't submitted to festivals prior to this year and tbqh don't know how they work in the back-end or if they would ever take two from one creator... but yall did Caro's work right and definitely deserve recognition for it.

I'm curious: how'd you choose between Keep the Lights on and Last Train to Brooklyn (and your other works, but those two seem like the natural choices IMO) when it came time to submit?

Heard!

I have been trying to develop intentionally as a storyteller more the last five year, in on-stage improv and as a game master on and off mic. Reading more intentionallyas a learning exercise has been really helpful, as have conversations like this.

Makes sense - and reminds me that I need to keep working to be a better reader and not (always) just a voracious one.

I'm always fascinated how differently people read. I must have noticed those at some level because I formed the same opinions (Nynaeve thirsty, Rand impressed), but didn't connect it to the visuals.

I slow down and notice visuals reading Gene Wolfe for some reason, but usually blow past them.

Dang, good company to be in! Another #GenesysRPG pod and the incredible Ten Candles AP from @twicerolledtales.bsky.social. Hot dang.

I'm excited to be part of the festival!

Oh, that's fair, re culture! I don't always think about that in fantasy settings.

You mean don't want Robert Jordan's fifteenth description of the stony planes of Lan's face?

As a reader who struggles to visualize anything (not aphantasia, but visual imagination takes intentional effort), I have always just assigned tokens to character names and rarely picture them doing anything at all. Banter? Love it. Describing an outfit? Eh. Action scene? Needs descriptive language

Agreed. Unless the song is trying to convince you that it is continuing on forever while you eventually leave, like Hey Jude, fade outs are for cowards

Well I did go on to see one of the best improv shows I'd seen all year right afterwards, so definitely a lucky night

I've heard that some voice actors book more right after a cold since their voice is more "interesting" for it's transient gravel or huskiness

Hey hey, my show, RPG Major, belongs! Set in an alt version of Seattle called Foxglove, featuring creatures from folklore and myth, a group of improv comedians serious about storytelling makes an ongoing musical mystery.
