Why is it flawed? Genuine question.
It seems that no ministers are told anything about vetting, other than the outcome. It is a totally confidential process.
The problem being that the BBC will be accused of ‘toeing the government line’ or some other form of bias. Facts are sadly second to what many want to believe.
What I’m responding to is your suggestion we shouldn’t be smug about gun deaths in the USA when we have road casualties, but our roads are safer than those in the USA. (And we have a lower rate of knife deaths too)
But our roads are relatively safe - including compared to the USA. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try harder of course.
