Well, I kept my promise and listened to three very contrasting Prince albums for the day that’s in it. Enjoyed them all and very taken with his range, all the way from heartfelt ballads to sleazy funk.💜
Outstanding album. Probably their best and I used to own a t shirt featuring the sleeve design.
Just been reminded by Marty Whelan on Lyric FM, that today is Sandy Denny’s anniversary. Here she is, singing Fotheringay, with a beautiful short film by her daughter Georgia, who does so much good work to keep her mother’s memory fresh.
A lot of well known names there, most of whom I’ve seen at various times. The really intriguing one is John & Beverley Martyn, with Nick Drake as support act. One of Nick’s few and infrequent live appearances.
Seven for me. I can almost feel my hair growing back. I’m off to see if my denim jacket still fits.
A very good morning Andy.
A lovely spot for a walk at bluebell time.
Work is the curse of the grooving classes. I’ll have a listen to some Prince today, in your honour. The least I can do.
Smart chap, if perhaps a small bit irritating.
KB would be the dream of course, but also Bad Company (never saw them) , The Pretenders and Graham Parker.
A votre.
Judging by those photos, I’d suggest Ralph Fiennes as Yeats and Simon Russell Beale as Crowley.
Morning to you Andy
Every chance I’d say. They’re very near the summit, but the air is getting thin.
Morning Andy.
Thank you. One of his finest songs.
Any educational experience would be good for him. I can’t imagine he has ever had one.
Looks very nice. RSD isn’t something I do, for various reasons, but I don’t understand why people delight in being unpleasant about it.
Laura Nyro for me. Would have loved the opportunity to see her live.
I’m going to post this for Token 2. To my surprise, I don’t think it has been chosen by anyone else. Al Stewart-Year Of The Cat.

Where did you find that? It’s brilliant.
Always great to see some Donovan content, with or without nuns!
