Remember, Democrats have repeatedly advanced measures to ban partisan gerrymandering and Republicans have voted against them time after time.

This is the game Republicans wanted to play. OK, then.

Food-grade diatomaceous earth. Kills ants by drying them out. No poison needed. Nontoxic, but shouldn’t be inhaled as it’s bad for lungs. Use a mask when applying.

"Your Account is Suspended" Message on X

The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.

I pointed out that it was fascist—which resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).

So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.

Interesting to see the Dem elite are at least pretending to support a centrist* politician. First it was the official benediction from Obama & now the Dem org is promoting Mamdami. Remember these ppl were treating him as if he were a terrorist & calling him [wrongly] antisemitic, not so long ago.

Just a professor standing in front of BlueSky demoralized because exams my students used to get a mean of 83% on prior to 2020 are now failed in large numbers. It seems that their ability to APPLY concepts to new contexts/domains has all but disappeared.

I love these students & I am worried.

This population reported long-lasting symptoms including fatigue, headache, loss of concentration and memory problems [11]. Over 25% of mild COVID-19 cases reported visuoperceptual and visual organization deficits and linked these changes with structural brain alterations [8, 10]. In particular, spatial working memory (SWM), a critical cognitive function involving the ability to store and manipulate spatial information in the short term, was impacted by mild COVID-19 in adolescents, young adults and adults.

Repeated COVID (infections) are ruining education.

People like to attribute kids failing to do the work to the few months they spent at home in 2020. Choosing to ignore that Covid causes measurable brain impairment and cumulative cognitive deficits in not only adults, but children too.

If you kill your wife, you don't get to be a husband anymore Some lessons from the media coverage of Dr. Cerina Fairfax and Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer's murders.

My latest.

I’ve been watching the media coverage of the murders of Dr. Cerina Fairfax and Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer.

One way media can fight back against male violence:

If you kill your wife, you don’t get to be called a “husband” any more.

You’re her killer.

I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.

Sánchez: “Shame on those who remain silent in the face of injustice. Shame on those who exploit workers, who criminalise those who are different, who turn rights into commodities, who defend elite privilege, who support war and violence in Gaza, the West Bank, Ukraine, Lebanon, and the Middle East.”

Product Finder — ENERGY STAR Certified Room Air Conditioners Compare ENERGY STAR Certified Room Air Conditioners, find rebates, and learn more.

My annual reminder that if you need to buy a window A/C this year do not simply buy the largest model you can afford. Energy Star has a sizing guide.

Why do you want an AC that is sized for your room?

Because an undersized A/C won't cool well and an oversized A/C will leave a space humid

Over 80% of people want a wealth tax for billionaires. Of course they’re resisting with their army of lawyers and lobbyists, but we’re building ours.

I’m so excited to be teaming up with @gabrielzucman.bsky.social 👉

lol our best estimates of how much extreme wealth billionaires have is enough to justify higher taxes. 16% of the world's GDP in wealth when the world is 8.1 BILLION people is EGREGIOUS.

Nearly six years reporting on working homeless families taught me one thing: the precarity isn't incidental to the profits. It's how you get them.

Kimberly-Clark could pay a living wage and still clear almost $2 billion a year. They can afford to pay workers enough to live. They just choose not to.

This whole thing was a setup for TV and that any news organization takes this even remotely at face value is going to turn me into the Joker.
