A dinosaur just landed on the Atlassian Marketplace π¦
Tricer - time tracking for Jira - is officially approved after 3 weeks of review.
Solo dev. Native macOS. No manual logging.

Hate to disappoint you, but there's no AI here at the moment π Tricer connects directly to the Jira API. That said, I've heard from a few users already that MCP support would be a nice addition, so who knows, might be on the roadmap!
Here's what the new UI looks like π
Clean, native macOS feel. Jira ticket badges, inline worklog details, timer always on top β±οΈ
What do you think of the new design?
π Love it
π€ Needs work
π₯ Ship it!
Tricer 2.0.0 beta is out! π
You might know it as Jirasaur - same app, new name, completely new look.
What's new:
β’ Sync status indicators for each entry
β’ Inline editable worklog comments
β’ Offline entries with pending sync count
β’ Playable task badges

Atlassian's trademark policy forced me to rename my app - so I took it as a sign to do a full redesign too.
New name, new look, same time tracking you love.
Windows & Linux support coming soon.

Only 5 days late posting this, so practically live coverage π
Attended the 2nd KRUG meetup of the year last week.
Highlight for me: the DDD talk. Solid discussion, good crowd.
KrakΓ³w Ruby community is quietly one of the best things happening here. Glad to be part of it.
Gave my first-ever public talk last Tuesday! Presented the ADR pattern at KRUG meetup, hosted at our inFakt office.
Nervous? Very. Worth it? Absolutely.
Home turf advantage helped a lot.
If you're thinking about speaking at a local meetup - just do it.

Waiting here already π
New repo alert! π
Jirasaur is coming to Windows. First commit just landed.

Before & after. One prompt, 5 min wait (deploy time included)
Coding? Easy.
Recording a 3-minute demo? Brutal.
Spent all day on my first product video. New respect for creators who do this regularly.
btw what's your go-to tool for thumbnails?

Blanking out at daily standup? Same.
That's why I added automatic daily summaries to Jirasaur - you'll get a recap of yesterday's work every morning.
Tasks, time, comments. All there.

Good sleep β good recovery β good work.
Nice, I will take a look
Indie devs: What analytics do you actually use?
I need to track conversions on jirasaur.com without:
β Slowing down the site
β Creeping out privacy-conscious devs
β Losing 50% of data to cookie rejections
Google Analytics? Plausible? PostHog?
What works for you?
View Transitions API is criminally underrated.
Added this to Jirasaur:
::view-transition-old(logo),
::view-transition-new(logo) {
animation-duration: 0.5s;
}
Result: Smooth logo morph π₯
Native. Fast. Beautiful.
New year but still seeing last year in website footers?
In Rails, donβt hardcode the year. Just use a helper:
current_year = Time.current.year
βοΈ updates automatically
βοΈ no deploy needed
βοΈ nothing to remember next year
How do you handle this in your stack?
Everyone's doing Wrapped.
Spotify has music.
GitHub has contributions.
Strava has runs.
Jirasaur has... two numbers π¦
(Hours tracked + Jira tasks. Simple, but honest work)
What's the best "Wrapped" you've seen this year?
#BuildInPublic #indiedev #wrapped
Driving home for Christmas and just shipped Jirasaur 1.2.0 for macOS. Finally automatic updates - no more manual downloads! Plus account switching, notifications center, redesigned timer window, and more.
Now itβs time to slow down, rest, and recharge.
Wishing you all happy holidays π

It's 1 AM. Should be sleeping.
Instead? Generating AI videos for a 15-second Jirasaur origin story.
Is that healthy? Probably not.
Is it necessary? Absolutely not.
First time using AI video. Worth every failed attempt.
Who's ready for Part 2? Drop a π¦ if you want to see it.
3 hours deep into Atlassian OAuth hell. Just want to give Jirasaur users an easier way to integrate with Jira than copying API keys.
Documentation: "easy peasy"
My config: follows docs perfectly
API response: 401 "scope does not match"
Update coming if I survive this

Finally picked up my ruby passport at KRUG today! π

Ever notice the best automation tools aren't built by CS grads fresh out of school?
They're built by career switchers who spent years manually doing the thing they're now automating
You can't solve a problem you've never actually felt.

Everyone thinks I don't sleep because I'm still up coding, but my Whoop stats just landed and the numbers say otherwise.
And somehow I'm averaging 7.5 hours a night.
Not a zombie yet.
Still not sure how this works π
The indie dev dopamine loop:
Ship a feature
It works
You get ideas for 3 more features
Code until 3am
Ship again
Repeat
Can't stop won't stop
...and now itβs 7am and Iβm heading to my actual job at the office π
