I waited for him to run from my obvious institutional power so I wouldn’t have to assert it.
Welp, it’s Thursday and it’s May, and along with the the incredibly cool writing in Four Score 84, we have a lot to be grateful for! “Owl” by @esmepromise.bsky.social is one of TWO short stories published by this author! Humbling work! Read it here!

In my twenty-first summer, I learned how to be nocturnal. Once I realized I prefer the dark, it was simply a matter of reorganizing my time.
When you start to lose your faith in humanity, a story like this might just be a little bit of a balm for your soul. This is "Owl" by Esmé Kaplan-Kinsey @esmepromise.bsky.social And it will be live in our 84th issue on 4/27. I highly suggest you read it. Seriously.

feet in the sky with the potted orchid
in the corner that blooms violently
pink twice a year, budget blossoms
because HR says: studies show
the presence of plants is soothing"

Amazing Patricia thank you! :)
Trying out this app since Twitter is fast becoming a fascist hellscape, can someone direct me to the writers?
