I say this every time de-extinction comes up: it makes no sense to devote science to bringing back extinct animals when we can’t be bothered to keep extant ones alive in the first place.
Just ask the PR. Some variation of "are you able to share which pubs may have been pitched so far?" should help gain more intel.

Normally I would never advocate for this, but could you wrap it in plastic for the flight? That might give it some extra support and get it home for repairs?
I also don't mean to be that person but people really need to learn how to be more resourceful if they think they're going to move to a foreign country. Seeking advice from a friend of a friend is not it. Visa specifics are hyper-individual and change often; my advice is irrelevant.

I've very willingly entered into an arrangement with a nearby family whereupon I watch their puppy three mornings a week, but I'm afraid it's ruining my life because someone else's dog is now the only thing I can think about and I'm so sad when he's not with me 🙃
I'm skipping it this year, I think. I love it as an excuse to go to London and meet with friends and PRs, but I can't bear another year of the France and Canada saturation when I'm focused on Africa.
