Yesterday's Svelte Society Meetup was a blast! Thanks to our speakers for great presentations and to everyone for attending, and keep an eye on our Luma page for the new events in the following months!
I aim to run one every quarter at least, but there is no rigid schedule; basically I run them as I'm able to secure the speakers.
Please subscribe to the Luma page; I'll be posting announcements there as the next events are being scheduled

Human-in-the-loop, presented to you by Cloudflare:
You know what I wish existed? A printer by Dyson.
It's crazy how little progress in casual home printing there were in last 20 years.
I will continue with it this year, and, Ideally, I'd like to post more things online as well. Unfortunately, it is way harder for me to do that, so unlikely I'll have a similar picture for social posts, but I'll at least try to be more present online.
Of course, I've missed some days, and sometimes my commits were just some tiny issues and fixes to keep things going, but overall it was a great habit to build.
Not only I got pretty comfortable with git, it also helped me to build a muscle and keep going through the year.
There was one thing about the last year that I'm pretty happy about.
For all my personal projects, I was doing mainly local dev, so I didn't have a lot of experience with git. So I've made a plan for myself to make at least one commit a day. Here how it worked out:

So, please reach out with the lightning talks for the future events, so we can build a strong community and make meetup regular! You can reach out directly here, or by this email: sveltesocietyNYC@gmail.com
Here are couple ideas what you could talk about:
- Using Svelte for personal projects
- Bringing up some problems, and reaching out for help
- Deep dives into Svelte features
- Share your experience using Svelte for work
...or your other Svelte related ideas!
My talk was not properly recorded, so here is TLDR for you: we are coming back from the long break, and I need your help — I am looking for speakers for future events.
The talk by @rich-harris.dev is already available on the channel, take a look, there are a lot of cool things there!

The @sveltesociety.dev NYC meetup last week was a blast! Here are a couple photos and a short thread about it!
No, sorry, not today!
I will try to publish recording when it's ready though!
No streaming, I'm afraid, but I will try to record it!
this thursday!
Okay, you can't edit posts here yet, apparently, and my formatting got messed up.
@sveltesociety.dev, could you repost my announcement, please?
Great news, Svelte enthusiasts in NYC! I am happy to invite you to the next @sveltesociety.dev meetup on July 17.
We will be joined by @rich-harris.dev himself, sharing some of the new exciting stuff coming to Svelte soon. Come join us!

Truly fascinating how they managed to not bring a single feature I would like to use to the new product, while also not bringing any features I like using from the product that I already love.
Surely, my correspondent will see my friend request, accept it and then see my message, right? Well, wrong.
It just deleted my message, even though we are now friends and nothing would be preventing showing it. How is that a thing?
Discord is... something different. I've been sending a person a message. After sending, Discord explaining to me, that my message might (huh?) not be delivered, as person enabled only accepting messages from friends. Okay, well, I'm clicking “Send friend request” as well then.
there's "terminally online" and then there's "terminally online (desktop)" and it is so much worse
