#devlog I was so close to releasing v1.0 of #ElementalFusion last week but I've dug my own pit trying to perfect the in-game music. I'm no musician, but I know what I like and I'm struggling to achieve that. I need to find a happy medium somewhere!

Made the decision to use #zzfx and #strudel in my game so that I can tweak everything as I playtest but, more importantly, I can have dynamically adjustable music based on the state of play! Only 2 moves left? Yeah that tune is panic inducing now! ๐Ÿคฃ

Fighting a performance issue with particle emitters in Elemental Fusion. There is a noticeable hitch when they emit... I think I have to trace back to ensure they are being created and destroyed correctly!

I made a key change to Gor's Tale this week, swapping out the static map with waypoints to tilemap based maps you can navigate and explore, paving the way for more random interactions and story progression.

Work and family time doesn't leave much room for #gamedev! Still I adjusted the game resolution to improve map pan/zoom functions and now have a little sprite of Gor's head as the current location marker ๐Ÿ˜

Hit a tougher part of development- working out the map scene with waypoints. I have the logic pretty much in place and can toggle through destinations. Still more work to do, but it's good progress!

More progress tonight. Whilst building the combat scene I decided to go back and make QoL improvements to save headaches later. Text boxes are more dynamic now! I also did some graphics updates to the title!

Further progress! I've created scene transition functions for a lovely fade out and fade in. I'm aiming to tweak it to give that cool palette swap fade effect on 8bit consoles.
