Just in case yall were wondering what the *actual* universally understood sign for “my heart goes out to you” is.

The highs of creating an evite and planning an event are only rivaled by the lows of seeing these bitches open it and not RSVPing
Who do you think will star as Hailey Welch in the HBO miniseries documenting her rise and fall?
Spent a decent amount of time in Sarajevo where sports betting parlors are legal and commonplace.
I’ve never seen a happy person inside.
The pipeline from “overnight internet sensation” to “shameless pump-and-dump crypto grifter” is getting startlingly short.
Hailey Welch went viral in June and here we are in December as she just rug-pulled her $500M $Hawk shitcoin…
I’ll be honest — I’m far less concerned about talking heads quibbling over what constitutes legitimate criticism of Israel, and more concerned about Dan Bilzerian ranting about the Talmud on Piers Morgan.
When discussing how to combat forms of bigotry, this type of criticism seems to get raised uniquely when addressing antisemitism. There are undoubtedly people who intentionally conflate genuine criticism of Israel with antisemitism, but it is far from the gravest threat to fighting antisemitism.
The bear must be protected at all costs.
I wish Jews were given the space to quarrel amongst ourselves about what constitutes antisemitism instead of gentiles doing it on our behalf.
Then again, such a quarrel would likely require 1000 years of arguments, a new holiday, a book added to our canon, and — G*d forbid — another diaspora.
Washing machine tech told me he’d be here between 13:00 and 17:00, today, so I’m looking forward to hearing a knock at my door at 16:59, as is tradition.
The highest praise I can heap on BlueSky is that it is now my go-to app to open, close, and immediately reopen when I’m bored.
Bill Clinton was born in 1946.
George W. was born in 1946.
Trump was born in 1946.
Can we please elect someone who can’t say where they were when they learned that Kennedy had been shot?
For the first time in my life, every appropriate doorpost in my home is adorned with a kosher mezuzah. I’m incredibly proud of this milestone, and just had to share!
A question for all my fellow Hebrews, Shebrews, and NB-rews: what does it mean to you to live Jewishly?
It’s easy to allow antisemitism to define our people. Tell me where you find the beauty.
You’ve never pre-gamed a writing sesh?
Growing up, my favorite books to check out of the library were the huge DK cross-section books. Now, as an adult, I’m wondering at what point I became resigned to the idea that books with fun diagrams are only for kids.
The correct take, imo.
So many of us live in cultures and households that idolize “work martyrdom.” If reading is work, now I don’t have to feel bad about prioritizing it!
I’m inclined to agree, because I feel like I can give reading my full attention, whereas when I’m listening, I split my attention 12 ways, usually resulting in a worse experience.
Weighing in on this “audiobooks aren’t reading” conundrum that is making the rounds on #booksky. I think a lot of people feel like reading is work — and work that they’re proud of. They toiled through 100 pages of Tolkien! You, conversely, just *listened* to someone else working, you poser.
Heinlein was a gateway drug to a bygone era of science fiction the likes of which I dare say we will never see again.
Schande.
Shit, is this some internet lore I’m missing?
I yearn for a smoldering hearth on a breezy day.
I am simple a simple Jew. I see challah, I like.
Matt is all about government efficiently and accountability. Dude should be begging for them to release it rather than have all that investigative effort go to waste, right?
You’re doing a real service by publishing research like this. So much of human history has faded from memory because it wasn’t deemed important enough to write down or because the subject wasn’t some noble.
“‘Both sides are guilty of extremism!’ The enlightened centrist yelled. The familiar feeling of a smug grin crawled up the sides of his mouth as the tiki-torches lit the pyre he was tied to.”
I love being able to browse BlueSky without being jumpscared by antisemitism.
They could at least accuse us of something new and creative.
We control the banks? Tired. Played out. Lacking imagination.
Jews made bagels circular to represent our unbroken and unending power? Fun. Original. Tasty.
