Spinning wool into yarn is meditative for me-I’m having surgery soon so won’t be able to do it for a while-I’ll try one of your suggestions during recovery, thank you!

We travel for the oppressive November holiday every year so that we NEVER travel for Christmas. Best decision ever!

Final bean update (about a month overdue). 11/12 varieties produced, about 4 quarts in total. already dreaming about seed shopping for some new varieties! Only about a TBSP of black eyed peas, but they will make 2026 super lucky black eyed peas from @ranchogordo.bsky.social taste even better!

Bean empire update! 2 more varieties producing, and almost 3/4 quart of midnight black beans so far. I love this time of year! The four remaining varieties all have pods on them now also. It’s incredible how well @ranchogordo.bsky.social beans grow even with our short season!

How cool! I’ll have to look into those!

Highly recommend it-last year was our first time and I’m now the official custodian of a bean empire.

Okay-I apparently missed two types-we planted TWELVE kinds of beans. Quite the upgrade from 4 last year!

Agreed! They are so beautiful before cooking!

We do too! I leave them in bowls while I wait for all of them to ripen and then store them in mason jars. It’s so exciting that they do well here in Eastern WA where the growing season is relatively short.

Beginnings of our bean empire harvest from both @ranchogordo.bsky.social bean club beans saved over the past year and some grown from last year’s crop. We planted 10 types, and are currently harvesting six so far: Midnight Black, Domingo Rojo, Mayocoba, Cranberry, Calypso, Vaquero, and Coco.

Just finished my Sophorine and love it! Pattern is by Audrey Borrego, and also had options for sleeves. I made the version including bust darts, and love the fit!

I would love this! There are so few walkable options in my neighborhood, I’d love more opportunities!

Starting a second bobbin of my Cormo fleece because this batt is lighter in color. The first bobbin and current batt are also pictured.

Still on my half-assed #tourdefleece adventures as part of #stashdashers. Switched bobbins because this batt of Cormo was significantly lighter grey. Loving spinning this!

Half-assing #tourdefleece because I need to remember to be kind to my body. #spinning some hand-processed Cormo while waiting for more of it to dry in front of me. Happy to be part of the #stashdashers for the second year!

Started processing my first full fleece yesterday, which meant laying it outside to pick out the bits not worth washing, and then scouring about 1/6th of the original 4 lbs yesterday. I’m so excited for this to dry all the way so i can spin a sample!
