I'm one Vermont voter that will never vote for another Republican, though I've been guilty of it (rarely, for Scott a couple of times) in the past.

Or the rowboat
It is no excuse to say "The Republicans won't convict in the Senate." Make those Republicans in both the House and Senate vote their support for criminality and the destruction of the United States.
Giving up before the fight means that a Senator or Representative should NOT be in Congress.
Presidential pardons - one could argue that a pardon issued after the president has been impeached, though before he has been convicted by the Senate, to be invalid once he has been convicted.
This would seem to particularly apply if one of the charges was accepting bribes for issuing pardons.
Trump promising to pardon anyone who comes near the White House must surely be an impeachable offense in of itself.
A promised pardon is an incitement to criminal action, itself a criminal act, I assume.
Hard to believe that we could sink so low, but here we are.
Carney - Wow!
Great tale of a middle power flexing it's muscles

I wonder if they'll go back to Pam Bondi's failure to pursue Epstein cases during her time as Florida Attorney General.
We have seen many instances of a people justifying their feelings of ownership because their ancestors had some connection to the land. But going back two or three thousand years is absurd.
But I also believe that the United States should do much more to compensate American natives for land theft.
I would like to see any person in the West Bank without permission of the Palestinian government be designated terrorists by the United States. Of course that implies that any support from people in the United States for the settlers would be illegal, as it be would supporting terrorism.
I hope Trump forgets to pardon the management of staff of Camp East Montana so that a future administration can hold them accountable for their criminal actions and neglect.
Even if pardoned all those individuals should lose federal employment forever and be blacklisted everywhere.
The generals who replace the generals fired by Hegseth/Trump must be aware that they will be held accountable in the future.
I wonder what goes through their minds.
I think it likely they are wishing that Congress, the people with explicit power, would get off its ass and get rid of Donald Trump.
The Republican representatives are so obedient to Trump that they cannot rise above the acumen of a Trump.
(Have to admit I could not quickly find an animal that exemplified the focused blindness and unawareness of Donald Trump)
I appreciate thoughtful commentary. I hope you can either ignore the selective thinkers or make your rebuttal (once) and move on.
Thanks for your insights.
Do the people who intend to invest in the Gulf of Mexico believe that a future administration won't reinvoke the protections?
Of course, they may assume that they can sue to recover their 'lost' investments.
I don't know enough history to agree that Trump's war against Iran is the stupidest in history but Trump has certainly joined a group of elite idiots when it comes to war.
Isn't it generally assumed that the pardoned WERE guilty - but that the pardoner had a 'good' reason to remove the penalty of conviction for a crime.
Of course, the rest of us may disagree that the reason was good enough to warrant a pardon.
I wonder if there is an alternate path to justice/award for damages if Trump pardons somebody. Is there a path that injured parties can now take for the same crime at the state level? Or is that double jeopardy, even though the initial jeopardy was taken away?
Again, wholesale lack of anticipation by the military. With all of the attacks from Iran across the Middle East, did they not think?
Parking closer to Iran saves time - unfortunately not just for the US, it appears it saved Iran some trouble hurting us.
Trump's haste to go to war without allies?
I believe Trumps' East Wing should be torn down immediately with the inauguration of a new president.
I don't care how good or bad or expensive it is. I only care that Trump designed it, so it needs to be destroyed, as he has destroyed so much.
Rebuild a new East Wing that has nothing of Trump.
Begin the Epstein trials in state courts so Trump cannot pardon the guilty, even preemptively.
It is not only Trump who has left the US military bases exposed and defenseless but the leadership of the US military. They had the more immediate responsibility to our troops and assets.
(to myself: "one topic at a time")
Of course Putin wants the Ukraine war to end - but only on his terms.
I am so glad that the Ukrainians, with support from many European nations, is doing so well against that evil empire.
And it is clear Donald Trump is at the beck and call of Vladimir Putin, so the USA fails its responsibility.
I assume Rutte is being so 'diplomatic' because he's trying to avoid having emotion driven Trump becoming an explicit enemy of NATO and Europe. Trump has no apparent brakes on his actions.
It is reasonable to ask whether that's the correct tactic/strategy, of course.
I'm afraid that those who have the Epstein files are more interested in coercing Donald Trump and others in the files than in cleaning up the corruption and villainy they document.
"What's in it for me?"
Perhaps the Pentagon request for war funding should come solely from people with assets over a million dollars and, especially, from those whose wealth has increased the most in the last two years.
I can't imagine that the current congress would pass such a plan, of course.
The Post Office is a SERVICE provided to help the people of the nation. Because it SERVES everybody, it serves people that are too expensive to serve by commercial services.
Why do do so many packages get switched to the POST OFFICE in expensive to serve areas?
Agree, the GOP terrible for USPS.
Significant storm our way earlier this year - I was shoveling off a deck and thought "Oh, this is what they're talking about when they mention the number of heart attacks 'awarded' to older men shoveling snow."
Somebody thinks it's a good idea to make big holes in the Susitna valley. Big coal deposits.
According to Alaska Dep't of Natural Resources "Alaska's coal resources make up about half of the United States coal-resource base".
For those in Alaska who want to suck at the tits of the energy biz
I'm outraged by the MAGA attempt to suppress voting.
However, accuracy is important. I live in Vermont, and while I could vote by mail and Vermont does mail ballots to all registered voters, I'm an old stubborn man who insists on voting in person, which is still allowed in Vermont.
