Yes, me too: M&S had a plain cheese sandwich and a plain chicken sandwich when I was younger, no salad or mayo etc in either. They were the only sandwiches I would eat when out as a child so I'm very grateful they existed.
Sobering day as another set of friends announce the end of their relationship (5th this year), colleagues at work reveal the depth of their emotional exhaustion and burnout, and any conversations with positivity about next year comes with a side of hesitation and uncertainty.

Absolutely. Nursing, social work, occupational therapy, speech language therapy and so many more within allied health. I imagine qualitative medical research too.
The more I think about this the more distressing it is... The extent of the impact is unfathomable.

I can't bring myself to'like' this or add a heart to something so awful. First we lose Te Aka Whai Ora, then the Hauora Māori team at TWO gets demolished, and now this. I'm so concerned about where health and social wellbeing outcomes are going to go.

Looking for storage ideas for #ADHD particularly kids' craft supplies; 10yo doesn't like clear plastic boxes but stacking wooden boxes result in items getting lost as they are out of sight. She only has a small room with a bed, small bookshelf (overflowing) and chest of draws for clothes.
Last Aphasia SIG meeting for 2024, and it was a real pleasure to hear from the team at the Aphasia Tech Hub at the Queensland Aphasia Research Centre. So many great apps available and so much useful information for clinicians to share with the people we work with.
Today was a reminder of the risks of home health; one of the team was attacked by a dog despite following every safety rule we have. The emergency dept had a 6hr wait so one of the district nurses irrigated&dressed her wounds while we supplied tea and snacks. She's ok, just rather shocked.
Thanks Linda. I've printed off about a dozen articles about CoPs from SLP, AH and wider medical circles, plus two of Christine Gauvreau's publications. lots to read! Always interesting to see if there are nuggets of wisdom from anecdotes :-)
We've done a collection for them at one of the kids' activities so we'll drop a big bag of gifts off at one of their collection points this week.

This afternoon is goal setting, Linda Worrell's 7 habits of highly effective aphasia therapists, and problem solving the complexities of aphasia therapy within systems that don't allow the intensity, flexibility or duration that we'd like.
Aphasia in Aotearoa day 2 is half way through - neuroplasticity, salience, cultural safety, bilingual aphasia rehab and Aphasia Therapy Finder all explored.
Kia ora Merryn, the more I read about Te Ārai's research the more interested I become in the breadth of hapc and what you are all involved in. I'd love to connect IRL if that's ever a possibility. We have a number of colleagues in common too.
