Men don't need to pretend to be women to assault women in 'women only' spaces - example #9,756

Sorry but my hot take on this in the current context is it's a bit like talking about Viktor Orbán as if he was still the plucky young liberal challenger of the 90's and not the wannabe despot he ended up. People don't get a pass to be atrocious because they were once not atrocuous.
Irish government: YES THIS IS GOOD WE WANT THIS
7 years today since our great friend Lyra McKee was taken from us. I wonder what she'd think about the world today. I hope she'd be proud of those whose lives she touched.
I'll be up to see you this afternoon, honey. Love you as ever.
it's never too late to change pat
the Greens are up for the third poll in a row with @lucidtalk.bsky.social - watch out 2027, here we come!
Greens in Northern Ireland up to record polling now at 5%. Which translates as 10-12% in Belfast. Continual growth over the past 12 months.
We keep right at it, offering an unashamedly left wing alternative to the Stormont Shambles.
Make Hope Normal Again.
_"The Government’s consistent cheerleading for data centre expansion has reached a point of reckless disconnect from the economic reality of Irish citizens... Irish families are paying nearly double the electricity rates of these industrial facilities, effectively subsidizing the massive energy consumption of global tech giants while struggling with a punishing cost-of-living crisis." https://greenparty.ie/news/uncritical-expansion-data-centres-will-fuel-social-inequality-and-energy-crisis-cllr-hazel-chu
Data centres uses 32% of Ireland's total electricity supply but pay almost less than half of the residential rate. So we're effectively subsidizing tech giants during a cost of living & energy crisis. Meanwhile this Govt continues to cheerlead their expansion & continue to fail in their obligations.
Bigotry against Travellers is where many Irish racists cut their teeth.
A good day to remind people that, around 2000 or so, Edward Said began routinely telling journalists and editors in his interviews that the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory was now the longest in modern world history, after having surpassed the Japanese occupation of Korea.
All across the UK, Greens are working to bring hope back to politics.
With just 3 weeks until the election, the leader of the Green Party of Northern Ireland Mal O’Hara joined us to campaign on our shared vision for a fairer, greener future. 💚
Wednesday 22 April is Earth Day, a day where people everywhere are called to defend our shared home.
To mark Earth Day, the Green Party is bringing a motion to the Dáil on the climate and biodiversity emergency.

No Farmers, No Food? We import most of what we eat in Ireland, and the tillage sector is at the point of collapse. Are we serious about food security, or will we become a country that produces only beef and dairy - and animal feed?
Ulster University has announced plans for 450 redundancies. The university, that just a few weeks ago gave Arnold Schwarzenegger an honorary doctorate, apparently for his remarkable contributions to public service, is being gutted.
image as above but john swinney is much larger than everyone else
why does John Swinney, the largest party leader, simply not eat the other 6?
the leaders of scotland's political parties on an infographic placed on a city backdrop. they are arranged in a line with each headshot getting slightly flatter, smaller, and higher, from right to left. it's odd.
starting to watch the debate and it looks like they lined up the vanishing point for party leaders so they would all look like they're placed on the buildings on the left? except those buildings stop so everyone to the right of Ross Greer is just floating and expanding in size?
Who at C4 thought this graphic was any good lol
The long-term solution to the fossil fuel crisis is *not* more fossil fuels.
One thing that struck me at Budapest Pride last year was the amount of locals who said to us that they were proudly marching for the first time.
They were sick of the demonisation of minorities, the grotesque corruption and the gradual chipping away of democracy - and that Orbán needed to go.
It's not just that Orbán losing inspires hope in other competitive-autocratic countries ruled by right-wing nationalist authoritarians. It's that his loss materially changes things in those other countries, because he's been operating as a headquarters and funding source...
Presumably there will be a package of reliefs for people who are out of pocket from booking hotels and transport and other costs to attend these ceremonies right?
And the protesters will support this because those are mostly working people right?
What a beautiful post

#guidersagainsttransexclusion #transgender #girlguiding #protest
So the guards finally got the finger out and the protesters folded like origami at the first sign they might suffer consequences
Why did we spend a week letting them run riot? This could have been resolved much earlier
The overlap between racism, nationalism, opposition to environmental protection, and a view of society based on pure, narrow self-interest, is obvious
Yes he may be a racist millionaire gombeen who owns large amounts of land but you have to understand he has to wear wellies to inspect the work of his employees
so he's actually Working Class and we must unquestioningly follow him
easy done!!
ah okay! it's just on the right it says one Tory constituency seat and no Reform constituency seats - unless I'm reading that wrong too!
Mislabeled relative to the tally on the right that is!
