Cumbersome yes probably! But the Arts are the only sector that are also expected to serve education delivery. I would love an arts rich education system so that arts orgs don’t have to fill the gaps - would lead to much more exciting work with schools.

They’re not responsible for & won’t fund statutory education like curriculum delivery, I guess that’s was this will focus on 🤷‍♀️

If drama, alongside other arts, is given weight in the primary curriculum teachers will apply it to topic learning. Kids will more easily engage with learning and attainment will improve. It creates equitable classrooms.
Drama & the arts are not just ‘extra curricular’ reaching only some kids.

So much promise of valuing creativity pre-election & it barely features in the interim report. Drama & creativity improve access to learning and without it being woven through statutory requirements for Primary it remains for the privileged…
