I generally use Auto Rig Pro to create my rigs, you can then retarget your imported mixamo animations onto your auto rig rig. You can retarget without auto rig pro, rokoko has a free add on. Another option is buy the animation bundle for auto rig pro and then adjust the model to fix their rig.
