I do like Grayson Perry but there was a moment in his current show on technology where I couldn’t continue watching. He was talking about AI “taking jobs” from the middle class and he suddenly developed a slightly sneering attitude as if they deserve it. Who does he mean by middle class?

For me it’s probably Underworld. The effects are incredibly shoddy, but I love transposing Greek mythology into deep space and the cast are fantastic. Leela and K9 were the first companion team I remember.

Can you get all the hidden endings?

On a whim I watched John Carpenter's Escape From New York for the first time in over 40 years. I love how he took the piss out of a lot of action hero tropes that Hollywood blockbusters end up using more seriously later on. It's all so lean - a nice, fast 99 minutes. Great fun.

Honestly - I think this might be the strongest opening episode of #Taskmaster in years. I'm loving this season already!

We just got back from watching The Resistible Rise Of Arturo Ui at the RSC in Stratford. Absolutely brilliant adaptation and Mark Gatiss is incredible. The bit where he breaks character and delivers the final lines of the epilogue was breathtaking. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

There's various expressions of her, including ones casting spells and pulling a magic sword out, glowing as brightly as her eyes/hair do. She also has a magical spellbook.

Judging from the joyful reactions I’m seeing worldwide, I can’t be the only one thinking it’d be great to have regular moon missions. Even if there’s no real purpose beyond “isn’t this a cool thing we can do?”

(And leave the billionaires out of it. They ruin everything.)

I’d be happy if we diverted money from wars and just blow it on space missions. A new Artemis mission every month, even if it’s just sending four random astronauts to take pretty photos. I’d never get bored of that. 🧵
