An old sermon of mine on today's gospel, which is my favourite resurrection story about Jesus.

I appreciated this meditation today from the good folks at 'Forward Day by Day'.

I’m really honoured to have played a (very small) role in the creation of this book.
‘Protect me, O God,
for I take refuge in you;
I have said to the Lord,
“You are my Lord,
my good above all other.”’

In other words, don’t let the past define you. You’ve been set free to live into a different future.
Rest in peace and rise in glory, Moya Brennan. It was a pleasure to hear you sing and play at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival in 2008, and meet you briefly afterwards.

Really enjoying getting to know this new baby.
(full disclosure: it helps that RVW is my favourite composer, hands down!).
Last night the @edmontonsymphony.bsky.social played Ralph Vaughan Williams' 'Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis', and although they played two other brilliant pieces , that RVW piece will live in my memory as one of the best performances I've ever heard from the ESO.

He’s always way ahead of us.

‘My God, my God,
why have you forsaken me?
and are so far from my cry
and from the words of my distress?
O my God, I cry in the daytime,
but you do not answer;
by night as well, but I find no rest.’
