Still angry about The Quiet Things/BAFTA situation. Conservative agendas being pushed with progressive language is a plague.
This seems like it has been handled exceptionally poorly by BAFTA.
They would have had these assets for plenty of time to be able to create a CW to run before the trailer, but moreover they were the ones putting together this showcase and surely must have known the premise of the game, right?
my favourite ritual after coming to london for a gaming event is to immediately see @heyitsshivi.bsky.social who does not play games, and sound like an insane person as I tell her what I did (love her dearly)
Didn't get it on camera, but Charlie Cox was also shocked to learn that no major award ceremony has a category for mocap. I often find that actors who don't start in games have such respect for it and want games actors to get more recognition
Think of how many games where the verb is violence. How many games (including the ones nominated for tonightβs BAFTA awards) where you shoot, fight, kill.
But when games want to explore the topic of violence in a meaningful way, thatβs the issue?
You can wishlist the game here, if you want to help the devs out: store.steampowered.com/app/2288520/...
BAFTA pulling a trailer for an autobiographical game about surviving sexual assault only hours before it was said to be a part of a showcase is an exceptionally bad look.
Film would not do this. This is not good enough. Survivors deserve to tell their story through any medium without being made to feel guilty for it. This does a disservice to the medium and to survivors
Everyone be kind to me please I have cramps at the airport
I have never been more excited for anything in my life
like I am fortunate to be w another woman who is lovely and supportive, but we still need employers to be ok with me birthing the damn thing and maybe even spending some time w it now and then
I want mum games. I wanna be a mum who works in games.
Something that rly encapsulates this for me is how a big company got a lot of good press for having a remarkable number of women who had had kids & kept their jobs. The women told me it was only possible bc of work from home
A year or so later, the company forced everyone to return to the office
TYY!!

The Drama is a very good film
The review I've been waiting for. Lex has put an ungodly amount of work into this and has probably thought about Crimson Desert more than anyone else. Worth a read!!
Crimson Desert is a chore-some slog, trapped under the weight of its own scale.
Its muddled post-release patching has sanded away any points of friction, leaving only busywork and a dull world full of boring characters.
It's a bad video game.

she does not respect me as a journalist
sorry I don't want to beef with mps on the timeline but this has actually infuriated me. the sheer contempt this government has for it's traditional voter base
Yeah it's so lazy of Hannah not to speak to you, and just assume that something as insignificant as your publicly available voting record might represent your views
