Stepping up in our community crisis: Port Hardy We need 24/7 emerg in Port Hardy.We need 24/7 youth centre in Port Hardy.The solutions are not complicated - don't let the politicians convince you otherwise.

Our community is in crisis and the government is not stepping up to the task. The medical and social services folks here need a signal boost and all the help they can get.

In a large hotell room with entirely bare walls, it is as though I am inside my partner's bone-rattling sinus cavity. Headphones make no difference. Mourne for me.

Many crows lining the sides of a small wooden bridge leading from Carrot Park to the beach.

The crows have welcomed my partner and I back to the beach for another stroll. We saw two sea otters frolicking in the bay, but their merriment was not for photographing as they were only clearly viewable through binoculars.
