What started as an hour of sniffing hops with Charles Faram has now led me down a TAS2R38 gene rabbit hole.
This Friday, April 24, is Noc pivovarů (“Night of the breweries”) in the Czech lands. Some 45 breweries in Pilsen Region, Central Bohemia and Moravian Silesia will open their gates to visitors, with tastings, tours and Q&As with brewers, among other events.

The blossoms are bursting into life, with our pear, Falstaff, Redlove, and Bramley trees all putting on a beautiful show. It’s a magical time of year.
As everything comes into bloom, we’ve also been busy with some new ciders.

Prior to a “beer break” (going to the footie), we had a quick beer at Whitelocks. I always enjoy visiting this great pub every time I come to Leeds. The beer was a gorgeous Mild from @idealdaybrewery.bsky.social.
