Gypsy Danger, Striker Eureka, Cherno Alpha, Crimson Typhoon.
At a point in the story though, Jaeger's had become collectible toys and people would watch the kaiju fights.

Letting players name their own mechs sounds like fun, especially if it leads to stupid ass Pacific Rim names
Me, writing a mech game; "Oh I need cool names for these mech designs, how about "x-name"?
Internet; "Taken by Battletech"
Me, "ah dang, what about y?"
Internet: "Gundam"
Me; "Z?"
Internet: "Code Geass."
Me; "okay then numerical identifiers it is!"
Internet: "40k and Full Metal Panic"
Me; "FINE."

I am torn between what games to work on because I'm running out of cute smol scale ideas and what's looming is entire genre settings.
I REALLY want to run Critter Caper after watching Hoppers. Phenomenal movie with a lot of heart.
While we add to the Grand Catalog of Neurodivergent Experience Metaphors, I'd like to pitch; "constant and pervasive feeling of having missed an important meeting that we're not supposed to address the existence of"
I think him being curled up into a ball and anchored via his quills into the leather seat is terror enough
I love how you captured the Fox's terror and the Raccoon's thrill
This is outstanding stuff! :D
I love the capture of the energy here
YES. that's PHENOMENAL.
Hey friends, nerds and community, my newest game is out; CRITTER CAPER, a game of forest animal heist hijinks upon an unsuspecting suburbia!
Pay what you want!

A raccoon desperately holds onto the handlebars of a scooter, alongside a fox, a hedgehog and a lizard stuck to the side. The scooter has a domino's bag on the back. Flying above is a crow and pursuing behind is a Bear.
A #CritterCaper :D
Game to come soon, it's being formatted today!
I sketched this up for the vehicle section and loved it.
Text is a screenshot from a Google doc The Apocalypse has begun No heavenly host has ridden out to save you The only pronouncement from On High is to repent in your final days. Fuck that, we've got a line to hold. A not very Friend Shaped game by Mike Keady An Apocalypse has come. This isn't Armageddon itself - but some bastard form of it brought about by the faith and fury of enough evil men to bring ruin to the world. Enough greedy men, seeking their place in the next world, brought this one to an end in order to proclaim their holiness. The End is here and so are we - a struggling handful of bastions standing true in a last ditch effort to hold the Earth in the face of the Apocalypse. We've held out for ten years. Fought and died and held the line for ten years. It's starting to feel like this is our world now. Burning in the flames lit by lesser men, while we desperately try to hold up what's left. Knight-Commander Maxine, ATLAS
THATS IT, WE'RE GOIING GRIMDARK
Gates of Hell: The Dark Century is about holding onto hope in the face of an apocalyptic hellscape brought about by the tyranny and greedy of evil men.
I think one of the things that attracts people to anime, especially depressed people, is that anime tends to feature very passionate and focused people getting to pursue their inner fire, and it speaks to how deeply and direly we need to feel that in ourselves.
My theory (and I'm sure others have done more work on it); that the culture wars arose as a direct response to increasing class consciousness as a result of movements like Occupy. The division we are now have was driven into us because we were close to realising the real divide is Top vs Bottom.
Two drawings of Crows, in pencil, each wearing a bow tie. One is smaller and cuter, one is larger and more fierce, but has the look of a bird of prey because of it.
I got through like four yesterday
That's awesome!
I've taken to calling the Raccoon "Leshy" as a misheard rendition of "you little shi-"
One of the classes is The Cub (new kid / first heist Archetype) and thst could be fun. I place the Bear as the Driver as being the only critter that can push heavy things like shopping trollies
A pencil drawn picture of a Bear in a cabbie hat and a dinner jacket.
And no players, we have a mini game- name that Bear!
Tried to draw a Bear without doing the thick line work where there would actually be fur.
Possibly the most time consuming part of #CritterCaper Has been deciding to do the art myself.
Pencil drawn text says CRITTER CAPER, A Very Friend Shaped Game From left to right are a Bear, a Fox, a Raccoon, a Squirrel, a Hedgehog and a Beaver wearing suit jackets and sunglasses.
Staying up late doing professional development and working on a fun gag piece for #CritterCaper! See if you can pick the inspo!
Hey, for any prospective #CritterCaper players - how quantifiable would you want units of food to be in your heist game?
#CritterCaper is nearly done! I'm so dang excited. I THINK if I keep up momentum I could probably whip up a new game per month.
Gimme your thoughts on;
1) Supernatural social work agency
2) Supervillain Rehab Community Service
3) A Hellgate: London inspired apocalypse-in-progress session
4) MECHS
A modern proverb: It is better to post low quality art and be thought of having low skill, than to post slop and be known for it.
Practising at drawing for Critter Caper!
I think the Bear needs a cabbie hat.
Next goal is designing the layouts of the supermarket and houses!
The Long Con: A critter may make a move or hold a roll value early in, or prior to, a job. It doesn't necessarily need to make sense to anyone else at the time. At a later time in the Heist, after a curveball has come into effect or simply a spate of bad rolls, the Critter may activate The Long Con and explain how their move is going to turn this situation around.
Introducing "The Long Con" move, one of the abilities available to the whole team in #CritterCaper
I have no idea what this will look like in play but I'm very excited.
