I'm just relieved nobody is talking about how I said I bought a house in Clacton, then admitted it was in the name of my girlfriend, Laure Ferrari, even though she couldn't afford £885,000, which conveniently meant I avoided £44,000 in tax.

Gutting. We had the chance to go ahead through Havertz before their second, and then to equalise at the end but on both occasions the finishing wasn't up to scratch - esp the late header.

Big moments win you titles, and we couldn't deliver those today. No lack of effort, just final third quality

A proper game of football, this one, berween a team that should have wrapped up the title already and another which should have been demoted to League One a long time ago.

We're not allowed nice things. From going from Quadruple to watching City win the treble is just typical Arsenal.

Trevor Phillips said on Sky News this morning that "everybody in the country who could read a newspaper" knew in advance of the Mandelson appointment that he was problematic

is this the same Phillips who interviewed Mandelson on October 08 2023 and didn't ask any questions about Epstein friendship?

A blue sky with clouds. In the foreground is a green Primary Route exit sign for the A140. The destinations given are Ipswich Diss Norwich. It’s a image I took from
google Maps as I wasn’t quick enough on the draw with my camera.

In East Anglia they even put their civic/ football beefs on road signs

Richard Stupid Tice would like to clarify that the £100k in tax he hasn't paid is different to the £92k tax he hasn't paid or the £600k tax he hasn't paid. Just in case anyone didn't appreciate the extent of his tax dodging. I mean fiscal prudence.

Boris Johnson didn't pass vetting when Theresa May appointed him Foreign Secretary.

The media must have missed that one.

Some very convincing sounding scams going around pretending to be Amazon.
Saved by the solid advice: hang up and call the company claiming to be calling you directly yourself.

Empathy, humor, compassion and warmth.

Too much to ask for in political leadership?

NEW: Richard Tice failed to pay almost £100,000 in corporation tax, benefiting his investment company which made large donations to Reform UK.

First time Reform's deputy leader's tax affairs can be directly linked to finances of Nigel Farage's party.

reform calling for starmer to resign over vetting is grimly bleak when you consider that they knew james murdock had been sent to prison for domestic assault when they let him stand (successfully!) for parliament

When Angela Rayner underpaid £40,000 in stamp duty, Richard Tice said it was "morally completely indefensible” and she should resign if she had “any moral decency”.

Now we learn he set up four shell companies that let him avoid paying £100,000 he owed in tax and to then transfer the cash to Reform

An old monochrome picture postcard showing a brick and stone building in the gothic style. There's an entrance arch between two buildings. The card is labelled "Gateway to quad, University of Liverpool"

Here's a #HigherEducationPostcard of @liverpooluni.bsky.social

This is one of a series of fundraising postcards produced in the 1920s, showing the campus as they hoped it would become

Don't forget to stock up copies of this month's @wsc.co.uk (there's no law preventing you from buying ten or twenty copies of it, just sayin'), in which you can find me warbling on about Dagenham & Redbridge.

Gubbins Watch: Coker saw a driven shot saved and Blues called on their bench. Collin made two good saves with Blues content to soak up the hosts pressure. The Shots saw a late red before Parillon hit the bar. SOUTHEND CRUISE INTO THE PLAYOFFS! 2-0 💙👏⚽⚽🥅💪👍💙 #SUFCexiles

Every reference to 'welfare' ever should have 'including pensions' or 'excluding pensions' in parentheses next to the word.

All interviewers/articles should clarify at first use whether the word includes or excludes. Interviews should be stopped if unclear.

Because frankly it's getting tedious.

When Orban was flagging in the polls, it was hoped that a last-minute endorsement from JD Vance might save his campaign, but it somehow did the opposite. I can't figure it out either...

Europe has always chosen Hungary.

A country reclaims its European path.

The Union grows stronger.

Mathias Corvinus Collegium -which Orban used to fund Christian Right across Europe - has endowment worth *1% of Hungary’s GDP*

This money has gone to Matt Goodwin, Frank Furedi, a Roger Scruton foundation run by Michael Gove + James Orr

Magyar needs 2/3rd of seats to unpick this. Be huge if he can

Whilst I very much don’t want to look at everything globally through the lens of British political culture, I also want to point out that Matthew Goodwin was getting paid a lot of money by the Victor Orban led government and highly likely he won’t be from now on and that’s y’know very funny?
