Bernie Show: Since the start of the season, #STLCards have rallied for 5 comeback wins in less than 2 weeks. It isn't random; it's a team effort. Persistence is a way of life for a club that doesn't have the talent to overwhelm opponents.

My Redbird Review on the #STLCards damaged bullpen, the inconsistent offense and The Curse of Matt Holliday.

Yep, you could say the #STLCards have a LF problem offensively. Through 10 games, the position has generated a .171 avg, .437 OPS, no HR, 2 RBIs, a 26% strikeout rate, and a wRC+ that's 69% below league average. Ah, I remember the days when the BFIB fans dogged Matt Holliday for not being "clutch."
Jordan Walker stepped up again Monday night. Now that he's figured out the launch-angle attack and is all-in, his formidable power and natural talent can shine through. There is work to do (reduce strikeouts ) but Walker's career is off the ground and rising. #STLCards

My Redbird Review: Jordan Walker’s across the board improvement has led to an impressive set of early-season numbers. #STLCards

Bernie Show: early on in 2026, the #STLCards are at their best when they're down on the scoreboard, in danger of losing, and must fight back to win. It don't come easy (thanks, Ringo!) but it's fun to watch. 4 of first 5 wins were comebacks.

Bernie Show: In the noisy debate over where Masyn Winn should hit in the #STLCards lineup, we're missing the point, and the concern that matters most.

Thursday’s Redbird Review: two series wins for the #STLCards and 20 Takeaways from me

Those hard-working rebuilders -- #STLCards -- had a good opening week at home. They won a high-scoring series against a low-payroll team (Rays) and a low-scoring series against a high payroll team (Mets). And the Redbirds were fun to watch.

Bernie Show: The #STLCards big dream for 2026? That what they're seeing from Jordan Walker + Nolan Gorman is something that can last. Think of what the two young hitters did in 2023 as compared to 2024 and '25.

Bernie’s Redbird Review: the #STLCards scored 21 runs in their wild 3-game series vs the Rays. Here are 21 takeaways, plus some old-timey sportswriter jargon, in a look back to the weekend.

One thing about JJ and the young #STLCards hitters: they don't scare. The Redbirds had to dig deep to win 2 of 3 from the Rays. A highly entertaining series, but is there a fire extinguisher for the STL bullpen? And HELLO, Jordan Walker. youtu.be/UQMoBDSZmcQ?...
Bernie's Redbird Review: On Opening Day, the #STLCards went with their youngest, and most homegrown lineup in ages. All 9 position players were homegrown. Pretty remarkable because it's so rare.

Bernie Show: That was my favorite #STLCards season opener in a long time. So much action, goodness, excitement and drama packed into one game. More, please. youtu.be/Gh7xcpACaq0?...
Opening Day in St. Louis is still championship-caliber, even during a rebuild. This rebuild won’t be as fast as the one in 1996 which took about 15 minutes.

Bernie Show: This #STLCards opening day is different, much different -- but still deeply special in so many ways. Here's to the old days, raise a cup to the Red Jackets, make way for the next gen, and welcome to a new era. youtu.be/pO-YzH2JscU?...
As a new era of #STLCards baseball begins Thursday at Busch Stadium, it's the perfect time to start fresh by giving contract extensions to JJ Wetherholt and Masyn Winn, two young stars who will lead this team to a better future. youtu.be/qUyGreDT3rQ?...
They've won 15 more games than they should have (based on the underlying metrics) since the current manager moved into the job. Thanks for your note!
We thought the #STLCards were giving Nelson Velazquez a legit chance to compete for a 26-man roster spot. Wrong. It never was a competition. The idea that Velazquez could earn a job through his fantastic performance is absolutely laughable. Destination: Memphis.

Bernie Show: in this video I pose a question: For the #STLCards what's the bigger priority? Starting-pitcher health, or starting-pitcher performance? Can both areas thrive simultaneously? I explain by looking back at the '25 rotation -- and glimpsing at 2026.

Bernie Show for Tuesday: The headline on this is misleading (sorry.) The #STLCards have been near the bottom of MLB in offense from their outfielders over the past 3 seasons. Will it happen again in 2026? It's a big problem.

Bernie Show: How much realistic hope, if any, is still there for #STLCards right fielder Jordan Walker? This isn't about a bad showing in spring training. This is about his alarming failure in 2024-2025.
