Instead they drop us quickly, intensely, and momentarily into alternate realities she abhorred and longed for. They range from punches to mystical reminders, anticipations of the fearful and the hopeful."
Scholar Ken Roemer carried on a lively on-again, off-again correspondence with Ursula over a few of decades that started with a request to submit to a study of utopian literature in the US. He reviews Library of America's Collected Poems in an upcoming issue of the journal Utopian Studies.
