On multiple occasions Patel’s security detail had difficulty waking him because he was seemingly intoxicated, according to info supplied to DOJ and White House officials. A request for “breaching equipment”was made because Patel had been unreachable behind locked doors.
He probably drinks to emotionally handle the horrors he read in the Epstein Files and how much he's had to compromise of himself
Many disturbing things in here but this jumped out in particular:
"At Patel’s direction, FBI employees are polygraphed in an effort to identify leakers ... asked ... about Patel’s perceived 'enemies,' as well as whether they have ever said anything disparaging about the director or the president."
