It took extras, but the Space Cowboys get the win in the finale. In a week where they lost 3/5 of their starting rotation to the Major Leagues, Sugar Land finds a split in Salt Lake.

RHP Alimber Santa is on a six-game hitless streak right now for Sugar Land. He collected his first save this evening sitting the side down in order.
His last 6 outings:
6.0 IP
0 H
1 HBP
0 BB
9 K
His fastball is averaging 95.4 mph, and he's only throwing it 28% of the time
This is a first for a native Texan. Mid-April typically doesn’t look like this
The snow has just started here in Salt Lake.

Hello from Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota!

There's always more history than you realize, and I had a blast discovering that baseball in Sugar Land was played just across Oyster Creek from where Constellation Field sits now!
We've got a brand new episode of the Down in Sugar Land podcast! We chat about Cavan Biggio, CJ Alexander, #Astros early Spring Training thoughts and a great conversation with Zack Bayrouty of the River Cats.
If you want our thoughts on Loperfido coming back, as well as some information on how rare it is for a team to re-acquired a player they traded via trade, tune in to this weeks podcast!
The #Astros continue to add to their pool of experienced position players to have at Triple A.
This moves helps out with the #Astros depth, because as of this moment, Shay Whitcomb, Brice Matthews and Jack Winkler are the only other players in the Minors with any Major League experience as infielders.
I'll give you one guess what we talked about on this weeks 'Down in Sugar Land' episode.
2025 Space Cowboy Joe Hudson has reportedly retired and is joining the Rays player development department.
We promised we were going to be more steady with the pod and so far, we've succeeded!
This week we chat #Astros non-roster invitees, interview the Tacoma Rainiers broadcasters and play "A,B,C"
Carlos Perez and Collin Price
INF - Jax Biggers, Edwin Diaz, Riley Unroe
OF - Lucas Spence, Kellen Strahm, Jo Sullivan and Taylor Trammell.
The #Astros announced their non-roster invitees to ST, which include:
P - Cody Bolton, Sam Carlson, Michael Knorr, Peter Lambert, Hudson Leach, Anthony Maldonado, Christian Roa, Alimber Santa, Logan VanWey and Amos Willingham
C - Will Bush, John Garcia, Garret Guilemette, Walker Janek, (cont.)
Former Space Cowboys and Astros righty Shawn Dubin has signed on with the DBacks.
The #Astros added a pair of Houston-area natives in late December, signing RHP Christian Roa (Memorial HS) and INF Jax Biggers (Ridge Point HS) to minor league deals.
Pending them winning a spot on the 26-man roster in spring, they'll likely start the year in Sugar Land.
BANGER of a first quarter in the First Responders Bowl, including:
- A punt return for a TD
- 28 combined points
- A failed onside kick
Happy Bowl Season from the First Responders Bowl.
RHP Logan VanWey has been outrighted to Sugar Land, per the Astros. VanWey pitched in 9 games with the Astros in 2025. If he has a healthy Spring and a good start to next year, he should still be on the Astros radar to add back to the roster at some point.
She also said "I also need to know more about people giving players money in bags."
So of course I sent her a link to "Crooked Letters" and "Meet the Bag Man"
Had my sister (not a CFB fan) reach out to me about the Lane Kiffin saga.
I put together a podcast-style recap of Lane's history, Ole Miss/LSU and all the craziness of the last few weeks.
Her follow up was "I need to know more about Hugh Freeze." Felt like a @stevengodfrey.bsky.social special.
Suero Time heads to Vegas (for now).
Just about to hop on Texas Live + Local to talk all things Sugar Land Holiday Lights!
