For some time I’ve toyed with the idea of doing a PhD after I retire. Close to retiring now and not sure if I’ll follow through. Have too many other projects in mind. Understand the wanting to run though. A familiar situation to me.

I bought the Squier from a friend who used to0 play it in a Christian rock band. So you could say I'm re-habilitating it.

But what about my searing lead-breaks....? I really ought to concentrate on my surbahar - it only requires two fingers. Sitars and surbahars (baritone sitars) are essentially slide instruments.

I don’t normally play electric guitar, but I have this Squier Strat. It’s pretty good. Lately H plays it more than I do.

I have arthritic fingers. The little finger of my left hand is almost useless. I’ve been trying to work out a way to play without using that finger.

The cattle threw themselves at fences trying to gain access, cutting themselves badly on the wire. Dozens of cattle died of dehydration. Again and again in my work I have seen humans failing in their duty of care towards the animals they were responsible for.

I am a veterinarian. Well over a decade ago I was called to the property in this photo to investigate mass cattle deaths. The cattle had died because of the negligence of a single stockman, who had faied to open a gate which would have given the cattle access to this water.

I haven't posted any of my photography for a while. This is a watering point on a cattle property in North Queensland.
