I was about to conclude that was the moment I gave up on young Marco, but I just looked at his Wiki page and he lasted another 12 months in the Goodison hot seat. So forget it.

7.5 years ago Spurs had it all & we only had naive hope. Tables have turned *somewhat*

Lovely to recall, living N.Ldn.

Went for a walk earlier, air fresh, sunglasses on & listening to a pod. As ever.

It was a walk I’ve not done in years & remembered last pod I was listening to the last time I was there.

Pod: The BlueRoom’s post match instant reaction Everton 2 - 6 Tottenham Hotspur.

Feels like a millennium ago.

Funny thing, I just knew I’d dominate Bluedle today. Knew it. Sunny day. Recent EFC win. Random days annual leave, sat in cafe. Full belly. Knew it.

Correct Philippe.

The game is just riddled with inconsistencies all over the place.

We saw CBs yesterday, deliberately slow down, get brushed from behind and immediately fouls are awarded. And here we saw van Dijk push down with all his weight & strength on Richarlison’s shoulder. No foul. 🤷🏻‍♂️

5. Ndiaye good again. Pickford’s had better days, but not a ‘mare.

6. Should head into Chelsea game with confidence. Chins up.

3. Did Keane really jink past a few in a busy box, as we pushed for the equaliser in injury time? Moments earlier, Myko killed a sky ball under pressure? Surreal few mins, before we eventually let James Vaughan down.

4. Always frustrating, losing, but we really should be satisfied with performance.

#ARSEVE thoughts.

1. Not sure we really “deserved” anything from the game. But to be level in 89th min and winning the all important xG battle… stings.

2. McNeil was quite good again. Could have scored twice, early in first half. Suddenly I might consider him, finally, a right flank option.

Thing about JP#1 is…

Whatever the save, there’s a silly face to match. And we’re all absolutely here for it.

Yeah, no luck for me (us).

Another defeat to nil to add to my HDS collection.

And here we are, 24 hrs early, ready for the inevitable Dewsbury-Hall sandwich (with two slices of Garna*). Can’t bloody wait; I’ll be half-cut and in full voice.

*error deliberate to steer quip away from one particular midfielder

Once with my son. Once with my brother in law. This time with on old friend. An old friend that I’ve watched us with for c.30 yrs. Couple of years on the Gwladys St, together cheering on a vintage of Campbell, Collins and Cleland.

Third trip to ‘lil Dickie’ tomorrow. My record is up there with the worst. P2 L2. O-4. I did see an equalising goal that filled me with joy for 5 seconds before VAR / linesman / ref / PL conspired to fck us.

Third time lucky.

Tyler Dibling.

PL starts: 4 [2 wins, 1 draw, 1 defeat]
Off the bench PL mins: 9 [4 times with > 10 mins played]

Tasted defeat, but only given nibbles to date. 3 PL starts when squad decimated and the other time he got 45 mins.

Untested.

Nathan Patterson.

PL starts: 3 [2 wins, 1 draw]
Off the bench PL mins: 3 [3 draws]

Doesn't know the meaning of [PL] losing.

Re: long term strategy, Moyes is possibly going too long term. Unwilling to select high(er) risk fullback options until there’s nothing on the line. But we see other growth.

Aznou & Patterson many of us want. Martinez, for example, probably would select these 2; we know these risks all too well.

Results have frustrated me. My basic logic tells me a team that can win at Villa should be able to beat most bottom half teams at home. And I become much more forgiving when results come in.

But I saw a team fighting last night when we went behind and man down.

Others got worse? Yh very possibly.
