'She also documented how few women were in federally sponsored clinical trials for AIDS drugs...
That was significant, she told The San Francisco Chronicle, because “the clinical trials are the only way you can get treatment.”' Long helped save so many lives.

I choose a new word daily too, if only as a reminder that there’s a good deal of luck to this game!

On Tuesday Mr. Trump’s threat to wipe out the Iranian civilization if Tehran did not agree to open the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil route, prompted a rare direct rebuke from Leo. The pope called the threat “truly unacceptable” in remarks to reporters, and added that Mr. Trump’s threats to blow up bridges and power plans went “against international law.”

I take it that this is the “punch” that Trump supposedly countered. Why not take Trump’s genocidal threat to be the punch, to which the Pope responded?

Yeah, the central demand the US is making of Iran, the core sticking point, is "please god just go back to February and let us forget this all ever happened"

I'm not sure how you can be against removing this man from office right now. What will it take? A nuke being dropped? It's too late then. The purpose of impeachment and the 25th Amendment is to prevent that type of thing from happening, not just to react to it.

It’s hardly the beginning or end of what’s wrong, but a big part of what’s in the middle is social media. No previous technology or platform—not radio, not TV—had the affordances that allows a single demented individual to command world attention so casually, so continually, and without consequence.

The war is very bad but so much stuff before the war was also very bad. So many people sick or dying due to the closure of USAID. The ICE detainments. The mass government layoffs. The destruction of the East Wing. The decimation of science research and funding. Fluctuating tariffs. Travel bans.
