For this month's Soundcheck My Joy! Emma @pettaluck.bsky.social is in a party mood with a surprising amount of French songs, whiskey, and a chill out room at the end of the show. Positive music for negative times.

A dignified, yet undeniably boobilicious statue spotted near the Tyne. I totally failed to note if the piece was labelled with a name. It was a sunny but cold day.

Massive thanks to @titsupontyne.bsky.social for a generous, intelligent and insightful review of my track ‘Snake Oil’. I took a photo of some tits by the Tyne in celebration. titsupontynenortheast.wordpress.com/2025/03/21/c...

An illuminated letter P, from the album art, drawn by my mum. The P looks like some sort of sundew plant and there is a yellow goat sheltering in it.

The news will be coming thick and fast from me in the next couple of weeks, but my new album Pan will be available to preorder from Bandcamp from tomorrow! Don’t buy online if you’re coming to see me in person x

Soundcheck My Joy! is a new show from a familiar voice, as Emma @pettaluck.bsky.social explores happiness as a form of resistance. Expect joyful tunes, positive energy and the usual mix of confounding genres and styles

(Great to have you back Emma! ^TT)

I did. It was a gig in a church building. It was not a religious event.

A church full of warmth and appreciation last night to celebrate @tumbledryerbaby.bsky.social ‘s 50th album release. Was especially excited to hear new material from TBCTCB. I thought I was a good TDB fan but turns out I only own about 30 of his albums so there’s a new quest.

Just got blocked from a conversation about Tom Morello before I could explain that he had booked Pantera to support Black Sabbath and that was not in line with his political beliefs. Seems despite three people asking for clarification, I’m not allowed to clarify. Odd place this.

Unfortunately Tom Morello is too busy curating gigs with outspoken racists on the bill.

Yeah unlikely to get the school and the scouts to switch over but there will be a breaking point and we can try to bring it nearer.

A flight from Southend costs the same as a train ticket to London so 👍
Also I guess this means you’re not using FB messenger anymore 😂

‘You have nothing to lose but a ton of money putting on empty gigs’
Well maybe I’d be over it by now but back then I thought you had to be American to be lofi or Northern to be unconventional.
