The children have been doing science experiments in the garden. They made a fizzing bubbly witches brew which they used to make magic spells. We then made some rainbow cloud rain drops where the children used pipettes to make the colourful rain drops as they watched the colours dropping down.

The Butterfly and Rainbow room children were enjoying the nice Spring weather with a trip to the park and spent lots of time climbing,sliding and playing with friends 😊🛝

The rainbow room children continue to enjoy the balance bikes and following instructions “around the cones”. They have also been focusing on putting on there own helmets with some managing to clip these by themselves.

The children in the Ladybird Room have been joining in with small gatherings practising our good listening, good sitting and good looking!

The Rainbow Room children were busy using their fine motor skills to pick up the Pom Poms with the tongs.
They also used pasta to post into the holes of the box.
Lots of great concentration and problem solving.

Some children made telescopes for our story of the moment “Shark in the park on a windy day”

This week the children in the Ladybird Room have been accessing more small gatherings out in the foyer and in playroom developing their listening, looking and sitting skills.

The children from the Rainbow Room are using their senses while looking at the touch and feel books and are using good descriptive language to communicate their own thoughts.

Some children from the butterfly and rainbow room accessed the park. The sun was shining bright and they had so much fun.

The rainbow room children have enjoyed taking part in some fine motor activities within the room focusing on there hand strength and problem solving.

Some of the children were having so much fun playing ‘Gooey Louie’ with their peers, practicing sharing and turn taking. Some children were modelling how to play this game to their peers too, sharing their knowledge of how to play it. Well done!

Recently some of the children were modelling their woodwork skills to their peers and others were beginning their woodwork journey by initially hammering their nails into the log/stump. The children were being very imaginative as they created their own wonderful models

This week in the Ladybird Room we have been building the strength in our hands, threading larger beads and using the tripod pencils to make marks

Last week we welcomed some Mummies into the Ladybird room to share experiences with the children to celebrate Mother’s Day. 💐

We opened up the side garden today, giving the children more space to explore and ride bikes. We were exploring risky play riding down the ramps and making sure we wore our helmets to keep safe.

Some of the children were exploring “how many?” and matching, using their early numeracy skills whilst playing ‘Smelly Wellies’ with their peers.

Some of the children helped cut and create their own dinosaur puzzles for our puzzle area, matching them to our toy dinosaurs in nursery

This morning we had a lovely peep session on a walk of our local environment. We had lots of opportunity to use our senses, while exploring along the way.

The rainbow room children have been engrossed in using there fine motor skills through the use of scissors and taking part in other experiences.

We had a successful Mother’s Day event in the rainbow room on Friday creating some beautiful cards and planting a sunflower for our mummy’s.

A nice wee interactive story in the garden today, we went on a bear hunt and the children went round the garden, following the story with me. 🐻

A successful last session at Magic Meals making Beans on Toast Muffins. I hope they taste as good as they looked!! 😋

We enjoyed the process of making our play dough, we all helped mix the ingredients and mould it to a nice consistency with our hands

We used a variety of collage materials to make lovely pictures. We used fine motor skills to scoop and spread the glue and add materials to the paper.

The children in the ladybird room have been engaged with music and movement again and we built a stage, they even lead the play outdoors wanting to do ‘the floor is lava’. The children have also been engaged in the block area building

Some of the children have been exploring the woodwork room resources and experiences, modelling their skills to their peers and sharing their knowledge, including sanding, sawing and hammering nails into their models.

Thank you to the stem ambassadors from Denny High School, who came along today to help us make new sensory bottles. It was great fun
