Of course! It’s something I’ve been to classes over so I figured I’d share some knowledge. 😄

For example a Dom tying their sub’s shoes can be doing it from the intention of “I don’t want my submissive looking unkempt” or “I am doing this to exert power over you.” D/s is about power and intention. Top/bottom is about action.

You can be a Dominant in a bottom role as you’ve said, and in the example I gave above it’d probably look like “Alright now hit on the left with more force.”

An easier non sexual example is tying another’s shoes. It’s often seen as submissive but it’s about intention >

I’d also add that top and bottom isn’t necessarily about penetration but more about action - who is doing the action upon another. For instance with impact play the bottom is the one being impacted and the top is the one doing the impacting.
