the free iCloud account should come with 200gb of storage. users who need more space can plump for the higher storage tiers. but to find out your shiny new iPhone is hobbled without paying Apple a monthly fee feels kind of like extortion.

Apple under Cook has flourished, but a lot of that flourishing has come from their shift to a services company. your $1000 iPhone isn't fully functional without a $30/month iCloud account. sure, you COULD use the FREE level, but 5gb of storage is less than useless. it's gross and it needs to change.

so Tim Apple is out and John Apple is taking over. but! Tim Apple is still going to handle the Trump fluffing so John Apple gets to avoid that. that's so nice of him!

anyway, John Apple, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back standalone iTunes or at least make Apple Music work like iTunes used to.

this design got SO much hate and i get it, because even tho i like it, it was a bit TOO forward looking for 2013. but with a top-spec M5 Max and a boatload of RAM and storage, this design would SING. i'd still have one of the originals.

we went back to Record Surplus today and i got a few of the RSD releases i'd wanted but more importantly, i found Fingerprintz's first two albums, The Very Dab and Beat Noir for about $3 each. the sleeves are a bit beat up, but the LPs are beautiful and clean. RIYL new wave/post punk.

and they don't seem to CARE. they're so fully cult-ified at this point that they think it's fine. killing a couple people for a photo op? that's just the cost of doing business.

at the time, i thought it was staged, but that was live fire. no way. but they took full advantage of it.

the Pink Floyd set was $90. 4x LPs, but still. and the Dead or Alive live LP was $50! fuck these prices. this does not align with my priorities. i am not a collector, i’m just a guy who wants to listen to music. fuck this corporate BS.

went to Record Surplus this morning fir Record Store Day. 45 minutes standing on line and i was still nowhere near the store, and they didn’t even get in one of the main things i wanted. dragged Travis out there for nothing. i was exhausted and feeling stupid as we dipped. never fucking again.

on the plane, almost ready for departure. it’s a full flight and these are smaller seats than the inbound flight. i can’t even put my tray all the way down. it’s an Airbus 350. it has more modern infotainment than Boeing 787 that brought us here, but i’ll take the better legroom any day.
