A lot of people are saying you can't make it good until it exists, and this is true. So I'm not gonna add another one of those and instead say this:

Even if it's not ever as good as you want it to be, it will exist, and it will almost surely mean something to someone.

I think it's a mistake to say they don't understand the technology, they do. The risks don't matter to them, control does, being able to pin all your online activity to your file somewhere is something they're willing to risk your safety for.

It's certainly worth the cost of your privacy to them.
