Doing work with Hitotsubashi University, I came across an article from Joy Lawn, a professor from my alma mater, LSHTM! Moreover, my supervisor for the project is also a fellow graduate of LSHTM. It's lovely seeing little bits of LSHTM in post-grad life & a reminder of how global our community is!
She’s a master💅🏻❣️
My masters in public health has come to a close and I’m walking away with a year of knowledge and memories that will carry me into my career change!
So blessed to be an #LSHTM alumna
They should just market Bluesky as a US politics commentary app???
I was hopeful I could use it as a Threads alternative - however I don’t live in the US, I don’t post about politics, yet my entire feed is literally 100% US political content. What’s up with the algorithm?
Yesterday’s Setsubun celebration in Shimokitazawa!!
I brought a bag thinking it would be the same style they did in Nagoya (literally chucking beans at us) but here the beans were in little bags! I caught 2~
Shinjuku is lacking on nice coffee spots for studying but I found one teeny tiny spot. It’s super expensive though🥲
Need more chill study spaces with wifi and good tea in Shinjuku as I end up spending a lot of time there
Happy Friday LFG✨✨
Officially starting my part time job as a research assistant at Hitotsubashi University!
I’ll be working on two projects: one on maternal and newborn health in Cambodia and another on STI testing programming in Madagascar, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
Maybe it's strange, but when someone seems resistant to talk with me because I'm non-JP, I try extra hard to be kind.
I understand tourism-exhaustion is real, & they can't tell between tourists and migrants. Even a few positive experiences may dilute their negative ones and change their perspective
