I’m kinda fascinated by this. Somehow reminds me of the American right getting all hyped for a minute-and-a-half about displaying a purple ink-stained finger in solidarity with Iraqi voters, c2005.
… Honestly, with the way folks stir up partisan animus toward pols like this, I think it’s best they get separate access in many cases.
Aside from the chutzpah of blaming House Democrats after the past 24 hours, is she not clearly walking to the standard security checkpoint entrance? Maybe Spicer knows something more than we see. (FWIW I have no big issue with @whipkclark.bsky.social going through special security if she does)

… Smarter people than me have said there is no law saying that the executive branch can declare an emergency to trigger the authority to pay TSA employees from other funds, but I don’t know that myself, so I was interested to see what the EO would cite. It doesn’t.
… I’m not the law-thingee guy, but that statute says that you can’t do this unless some other law says you can. The EO doesn’t cite some other law, so 🤷♂️
Here’s the text of the TSA EO as posted by the WH. It blames Democrats several times, but the only legal justification I see is “consistent with applicable law, including 31 U.S.C. 1301(a).” …

… Oh and Fox News reports now that Trump says the Senate bill passed overnight is bad, and what they should do now is eliminate the filibuster. (Senators have already left DC)
So if I understand correctly the current status of DHS funding is fuck it, we’ll just go with Trump’s plan to rob the government for tsa checks

If the House does this and bolts for recess, wow
Reporter: We’re having such a hard time finding anyone in the Atlanta airport blaming Democrats for the long wait time….
Cameraman: Wait, there’s a guy wearing an old Redskins tee! We’re saved!
Read this as trolling system, and, potentially devastating development in history of world trade tbh
Tomorrow will be one month since the bombing of a girls school in Minab, and the U.S. has yet to officially acknowledge any culpability or express regret.
I realize that a full report on what happened and how can take months, but we should have at least taken some responsibility by now.
Apparently it’s a new White House app

My first guess at Patel’s password would be Kashrules and I wouldn’t bother thinking up a second guess
… Maybe that’s Trump’s sneaky way of getting around his lack of any authority to have DHS pay the checks. Make MM pay!
Just gonna note here fwiw that per the language of his Truth post, Trump says he’s directing Markwayne Mullin personally to pay the TSA workers, not the Department.
After a day of sharply rising oil trading, Trump’s post giving Iran ten more days went up just after the bell at 4:11pm ET, causing an immediate $2 drop in Brent oil. (The price quickly mostly recovered, so theoretically anybody with advance knowledge would have had to act quickly to take advantage)
… On The Five Jesse Waters asked Trump if the CIA told him “that Ayatollah Jr. is gay?”
Trump’s answer quickly veered to a claim that in Palestine they kill women “if you don’t wear a certain cloth all over your face.”
So the world is going 👍
