At minimum, they'll add congestion to the roads. That's on a good day. That isn't factoring in technical challenges with winter, off-shoring driving work, and insufficient data to determine how safe (or unsafe) they actually are. The future of car travel isn't autonomous cars, it's better transit.

Sure! Let's add thousands of driverless cars to add to Toronto's already horrendous traffic congestion! Take away jobs from hardworking Canadian taxi and bus drivers just to serve a private US company!!! Absolutely great advocacy for Transit here.

Shaping the Canada of tomorrow with high-speed rail The train we need Alto’s aim is to build the country’s first high-speed rail network that will run at speeds of 300 km/h or more to efficiently connect major cities in the Toronto–Québec City corridor...

Final week for Alto consultations!

Feedback closes April 24. If you support high-speed rail in Canada, now’s the time to show up and make your voice heard.

Every action counts.

They should've just used paper. It's better for the environment I think

I've come to the conclusion that people against alto are just really stupid.

On another note, when conservatives say they have "common sense", all they really mean is they're repeating talking points from their echo-chamber.

Why's it taken me so long to realize this.

But Sunrise and sunset do not make things that yellow. It's still bright out during those times. Yellow just feels very dark and enclosed

Are people like, joking when they say they like yellow or orange light? Is it all a big joke that I'm not getting?

Yellow light just makes everything yellow and blurry, meanwhile white light shows colours and makes things more clear?

I don't like this.

I love how two days in a row, the rain slowed down when I got on the bus. But walking to the bus? Nah cry about it, you're soaked now

I have come to the conclusion that the best home server GPU is the Nvidia Quadro p2200, and I wanted to tell someone about it.

It's only 75w, needs no external power, is faster than an rx6400, and has 5gb of vram. Perfect for running a small gaming VM.

We should ban rain

Just a reminder for all the railfans out there, especially when doing it at stations.

Please stand well clear of the tracks, atleast 4-5 meters from the yellow line, the yellow line is there only for stopping trains, not high speed Trains, ive seen too many people be on or near the tracks lately.

Transit Committee– April 9, 2026 YouTube video by Ottawa City Council

Today Ajay of @bettertransitottawa.ca had a wonderful delegation at Transit Committee about the decision to cut back on the already watered down Bus Lanes on Bank Street pilot. We highly recommend watching it!

These routes are nice when the ONE scheduled bus isn't cancelled, and leaves you stranded so you have to take 4 busses, which results in you being an hour late to a game.

Canadians Support High-Speed Rail. It’s Time to Build It. Rail Fans Canada supports the development of high-speed rail in the Toronto to Québec corridor. That position is not speculative or aspirational. It reflects where public opinion in Canada already sta...

Canadians support high-speed rail.

A March 2026 survey from Abacus Data found 62% support for building it, versus 18% opposition.

Even a survey commissioned by opponents still shows majority support.

It's more of like, I hate to see albums broken up and shoved into random playlists. Especially for things like pink Floyd.

The City of Ottawa is leasing some REM units to see if they hold up better to get Stage 2 East back on track, and the first delivery is tonight at Montreal stn at 11pm.

Issues with platform height are ok because they are retrofitting with surplus wheelchair lifts intended for Siemens Venture cars.

You can with most streaming services. However it hurts to see playlists that break up albums, when they were intended to be sequential.
