A ghost nightlight with the word Kiro
Thrilled for the launch of @kiro.dev today! We started with two main ideas that led to Kiro's spec-driven development features:
1) AI can help us build better products through rapid prototyping
2) Devs can declare their app's requirements to get better results from AI, close to production-grade code
Memories of a wonderful summer in Banff

Flowchart showing a distributed system that uses MCP to communicate with MCP servers running in Lambda functions.
The vast majority of MCP servers today aren't actually servers 😱 They run as a child process and communicate over stdio, a bit awkward for distributed systems trying to use MCP.
Backend apps can now run existing stdio MCP servers in Lambda functions with this new library:

Probably one of my favorite pictures. The Oculus makes for some good ones.
Kyle Walker looks done
Dusted off the work laptop for the first time in over 10 days. My January calendar is already full 🤔
The sun came out on NY Eve so we went and trained a bit (followed by some yummy tacos).
The kid and I managed to get a little birding in during the holiday break.
Laporta needs to go. This is a disgrace.
80% of the pictures I took last year were on the soccer field :-) 🤷
These were some of my favorite photographs of 2024
There's something to be said about having some of our key devices hardwired (Roon Server, Music Streamer, TV Streaming, NAS). Everything is just snappy
