What a story.
It's amazing how such a small story can move you to tears.
Because the concentration camps were devoid of any shred of humanity the tiniest gesture becomes the source of life. What peoplehood we had even in our hardest hour.

We Remember 🕯️
Posts by Sharone Zitzman
No amount of rockets and no amount of terror will change this fact.
So perhaps bet on peace.
Nearly 100 years later we do this to remember our people who were murdered in cold blood just for being Jewish.
We are not going back to Europe and we are not going back to Morocco.
This is the only sliver of land on Earth that enables Jewish people to do this.
Yom HaShoah in Israel.
You can be rushing to meetings and work and life.
But at 10:00 SHARP - a siren wails - the same siren that we've been hearing for the past month to tell us that rockets are being fired by those who dream of our destruction.
Everyone stops in place for TWO WHOLE MINUTES.
I didn't post about Yom HaShoah this year, because pretty much any post about Jewish Rememberance is met with the worst kind of abuse & anti-semitism. Which has been completely normalized.
So I'm thankful for this empathetic & important message from a Coptic ally.

And forgiving people for not taking this adamant stance and blaming Israel is lazy and trivializing of the problem.
I think those that think that way are perpetuating and enabling the problem.
Instead of adamantly stating that even if you don't like Putin's decisions no Russian-American is to blame for them, an obvious & correct position.
The same is not offered for Jewish people anywhere.
I just can't reconcile with that mindset.
Perhaps it's because I'm a Jew living in Israel but I honestly don't think that any other country or people are held to a standard where a single government's decision impact the entire people around the world.
I don't think auto-Antisemitism/Anti-Zionism is an Israel problem.
It's a "lacking basic fundamental Jewish values" problem.
If you don't understand the fundamental connection between Judaism and Zion, you need to be re-educated on your origins.
And no not via birthright - you need community.
There also happens to be a Diaspora Minister.
I'm not a big fan of the actual role or the current appointee - but it does exist.
Perhaps some kind of office of affairs, but I certainly don't think there needs to be any kind of representation of anyone who is not a citizen of the country.
It isn't the World Jewish Congress it's the Parliament of Israel.
Anyone who serves in the Israeli Parliament is required to relinquish any other citizenship they hold.
You can't be a foreign national and serve in a different country's government.
You can argue for a PAC like AIPAC.
Puppo gets to enjoy some ceasefire downtime too. 🏖️

Delightful spring walkies in YET ANOTHER undisclosed location. 🌱🌺
Just watched Project Hail Mary - we went as the entire family (4) - where three of us read the book.
And we were all impressed with how good the adaptation was.
I'm usually a hater of movie adaptations after reading the book - and this WAS GREAT.
Definitely a FANTASTIC family movie.

Onions + potatoes + eggs.
There are never enough on Passover.

Why stop at half?!
That makes me 💙 and 🥹 and 🌈🌞🌈🌞 for both of you.
Cookie time >> Kosher for Passover edition 🤩
My chocolate chip cookies became more of a chocolate chip singular cookie - but I pulled a foileshtick - let's see if I managed to fix it.
And peanut butter & tahini cookies (for the kitniyot eaters).
Happy Pesach y'all!
Are these stories really any different?
This is Europe.
The downfall of civilization has begun.
Terrifying and horrifying.
Those who show mercy for the cruel, will end up with cruelty inflicted upon the merciful.

Easy does it!!
You've got this. 💙💪🏽
The world is completely and utterly depressing right now.
I know you feel really deeply pained by what is happening in the US right now, but as a Jewish person I find this post extremely offensive and diminishing of the horror of a regime that perpetrated an industrial scale genocide.
Slava Ukraini 💪🏽🇺🇦
This makes me happy.
It was my first time having Omakase & oh my god....it was divine.
